After reading the menu of Barley’s, it seems like a good suggestion. It has sandwiches, wraps, and other stuff in addition to pizza. Between that and the private room, I’d definitely like to try it there if everyone else agrees.
I’ve never been to Barleys, but it sounds fine to me. I was going to suggest Mellow Mushroom, but it’s a (regional) chain and chains are apparently a no-no. Kalamata Kitchen (greek food) would’ve been good too… but the owners retired and closed the restaurant (the bastards).
No way am I getting on 441 to drive to Gatlinburg. :eek:
Mellow Mushroom works too. It’s just that Bailey’s and Calhoun’s were the only restaraunts named and Bailey’s seems the superior of those two.

Oh, anyone got a link to a “stuff to do in Knoxville” kinda page? We’re probably gonna drive up Friday night, so we’ll have most of Saturday to kill.
Barleys does have good pizza, and its in the historic downtown district (which bye the way is a freakin’ intersection far as I can tell). I also agree with John T concerning Calhouns.

So, can we say 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 14 at Barley’s?
If so, once we get close to a final count (say, around May 15th), I’ll call and find out about the upstairs room.
One question for folks just popped into my mind: Is there going to be any problem with underage folks attending if we’re at Barley’s (ok, 2 questions) and, do we have any underage folks who are planning to attend? I certainly don’t want anyone left out because they can’t get into the place, and not having been into the bar-scene in Knoxville, I don’t know how strict they are with underage folks even being inside.
GMRyujin - there’s always the Knoxville Zoo. I haven’t been in ages, so I don’t really know what it’s like. What kind of stuff do y’all like to do?

Damn. I fully expected to be the youngest person in attendance; I almost always am.
I’ll give Barley’s a call tomorrow and ask them if they are a restaurant or a bar. If they are a rest., then under-21’s can be served.
My feeling is that there will be little problem with under-21s getting in.
I’m 36, and I’ll likely bring my wife and daughter (meaning I might have to make a speedier-than-usual exit).
No problems with age here. I am 32 and hubby is 36. I think it is a good idea about calling them. That way we eliminate any question marks we may have. And if it happens that Barleys won’t work we’ll just go to a place everyone can go. 
For pizza in Knoxville, that’d be the Mellow Mushroom.
Anything cheesy and touristy, neither of us are particularly picky. Which reminds me, we simply MUST see Rock City while we’re up that way.

There’s also the Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg if anyone wants to brave the traffic.
