i dunno… i kinda like it. partially because i love black and white photo, but also i like the starkness of the tangly branches, and the fuzzy not-quite-anythings inside the negative spaces… but i could be wrong. no one else on the planet has the same taste as me.
so i guess this doesn’t help very much, does it!?

I think it’s interesting. The set of branches in the foreground form a box, almost a frame, in the middle of which there is a gap filled with some out-of-focus branches, forming another frame, in which there is a gap filled with some out-of focus, well, something that is too out-of focus to tell (but could be another frame). With it’s shallow depth of field and framed space in the middle, I think it is not a mess, but rather, it works.
Looks cool to me.

I really like it too. I have done a similar project in highschool when working on my portfolio, it was a mangled old tree, and it to this day remains on of my most favorite works. Your picture reminded me of it

Arg220, i took the picture about six years ago. but only about a week ago did i get prints from the negatives.

It makes me think of sex.
Of course, everything makes me think of sex.
Besides sex, it makes me think about that time I was going sledding and I went further than everyone else and the only thing that saved me from plummeting into an icy cold stream was the very thick briar patch that brought me to a rather scratchy halt. And then there was this other time I went sledding and at the bottom of the hill was a giant briar patch (yes, we were stupid as children) and I went into it so that I was completely surrounded by the briars. Neat, but hard to get out of. Then there was this big hill in Virginia that we went sledding on that they bulldozed into flatness to build a house on and I was disappointed, but I used scrap lumber from that house to build a tree house, and there were lots of briars in those woods, and my brother had a treehouse that was really big and Mom didn’t like it because it was so tall and we had a zipline, too, and it went over a briar patch, and my knee itches.
