It is Raining in Maryland

Paul in Saudi has totally the right idea about what to do in the rain.

Me? I decided to bike to the gym…and then proceed to get hit by a truck yesterday on my way back from the gym in the pouring, cold rain. Yes, I’m fine but sore.

However, next time it rains, I believe I will take Paul’s approach and stay indoors.

It rained last night in Tel Aviv. A nice, heavy downpour.

It performed an short encore this morning, but the heat came back this afternoon. Oh well. I still have hope for tomorrow.

May it rain every day from now until March (except for my four weeks of reserve duty next month).

Holy cow! That’s terrible!

If you think that’s terrible, you should see the truck!

Seriously - you’re OK, right?

Oddly, I freaked more once I got home and pondered my sheer luck…120 lbs vs. a Dodge pick-up normally does not work out quite so well for the cyclist; plus I got flung into the entrance of a parking lot rather than onto Route 1 (3 lanes each way).

The handlebar/bike frame imprint on my clavicle and chest will take a while to wear off, though.

We had tickets to the Maryland vs. NC State football game.

Lasted through the first half, but we ended up so miserable and soaked through that, despite it being a very close game, we gave up and went home, listening to the second half on the drive home.

We just bummed around and ran errands. When I got home, my shoes and socks were soaked through enough that my feet got pruny.

I will say this. Waiting in line at the gas pump in the rain is a miserable experience.

We had that rain last night up here in Vermont. We could hear it coming down hard all night (well, the parts we were awake for, anyway). Today our river is much higher than usual.

It’s raining in Baltimore, baby… everything else is the same.

Ahh… it’s raining again. Lovely.

Summer is finally over.
