Cellulitis - Symptoms and causes
Find out more about this potentially serious skin infection and how a few simple skin care tips can help prevent it.
I like food.
You did not. I have three boys and four events:
Fang - high school graduation (birthday next month. Wants a combo birthday/graduation party then)
Spike - eighth grade promotion and birthday today.
Squeaky birthday Thursday.
It’s been a busy May.
Facebook is pretty stoopit. This evening, one of their “People You Might Want to Friend” suggestions was my daughter’s ex. He’s about to become his second wife’s ex, too. She and my daughter became FB friends and it turns out the both dealt with similar problems with him. Except the 2nd got some bonus cyber-cheating, which is why he’s a soon-to-be-ex. Anyway, no, I didn’t friend him.
Plumber coming tomorrow to look at the water heater.so I need to clear a path to the unit. That end of the basement is a dumping ground.
Meanwhile, it’s late and I need my beauty sleep…
Also maybe one for the new month’s mini-rants on the first?
Irk remains irksome. DH was in bed when I got home (not a real surprise, as early as his alarm goes off and as late as he was up last night).
Three-day weekend, and Moanday will be guilt-free paid goofing off!
DH and I have made friends with a neighbor cat who seems to be typically outside in the mornings. He’ll come running to my voice.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
HAPPY TOWEL DAY!

I get Monday off. It might even be paid. And happy new kitty friend!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 65 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today is laundry day. I also have my annual wellness checkup this afternoon at three-thirty. I wanted it to be in the mornin’, but, alas, 'twas not to be. Sup shall be leftovers from Sunday.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Tuesday Y’all! Happy Towel Day!
Weird dream summary - skeletal remains of a murder victim in a box, Jeff Goldblum posing for nekkid photos, an unknown woman scooting around on some sort of little vehicle. No, I wasn’t drinking or doing drugs last night. I take no responsibility for my nighttime brain.
We may see upper 70s today, and perhaps a bit of sun will pierce the clouds. Maybe. I’m not expecting much. Since the flooring guys will be here day after tomorrow, I need to start emptying as much as I can from the area that will be carpeted. Then I’ll need to sweep. Here’s hoping Roxy will entertain herself while I’m tending to chores.
I’ve also got a slab of ribs that I picked up at Aldi yesterday - they’re going into a low, slow oven for most of the day. I shall slather them with Sonny’s sweet BBQ sauce, and supper will be yummerrific! That and the plumber coming to assess the water heater will pretty much comprise my day. Onward!
Happy Tuesday!!
Morning all. Up at 0530, and finally went around and opened all (well, almost all) the windows to take advantage of the screens. It’s 65F currently so I’ll hopefully cool down the house some and then use the AC to keep it comfortable. Just not ready yet to have the AC on all day, which is needed during the hot months of July-September.
FCM, Jeff Goldblum posing nekkid? OK, even Freud would think that’s weird…
Seanette, yeah on new feline friend. And 3-day weekends are always nice.
Wizard, enjoy the partying.
flyboy, nice pictures with Tonka.
OK, need to finish waking up (or go back to bed). All y’all take care.
Goodness, I am TIRED. I got up at my usual time but found myself nodding off in front of the computer, so I took a half-hour nap. I am till tired so much caffeine will be consumed today, I think.
So yesterday we picked up a bird feeding station, feeders, water station, seeds, and suet. I got a finch feeder, common bird feeder, water dish, and suet feeder. We set it up and within half an hour I had a few birds feeding. I need to finish landscaping around the feeder, providing some bushes or tall plants to hide in, as well as bright flowers to attract the birds. I might even install a small water feature. I don’t know yet. So, that little area is a work in progress, but hopefully, it’ll be done in a couple of weeks. I’m not giving myself a hard deadline because it seems there is something that always sucks up my days.
Another day of work awaits, but I think I will start “on time”, instead of early. Now that I’ve taken my nap, I feel like I screwed myself out of goof-off time, lol. So, that gives me another half-hour.
We are supposed to have partly sunny skies with a 20% chance of rain. It’s raining as I type. My grass is getting tall and it seriously needs to be mowed, but I’ve got no place to put the clippings, so it’ll have to wait until Friday after the yard bin is emptied. Just in time for Zoe to be able to play in the yard.
My weird dream summary: the army was doing maneovers in the woods near my house (there aren’t woods near my house) and the CIA sent very pushy guys to interview both me and my housemate (I don’t have a housemate) and my basement was flooding. (I don’t have a basement)
Then awoke at 5 am with cuz my back was killing me. Fun times.
Cloudy am with clearing for the afternoon, highs around 80. Got the lawn mowed yesterday after work, so that’s taken care of for the week.
Now, onward to the day! Stay safe, all!!
My grass is getting tall and it seriously needs to be mowed, but I’ve got no place to put the clippings,
You need a mulching mower - it chops up the clippings and returns them to the soil to nourish the grass. No clippings to dispose of!
I think Roxy is here - Higgs is barking like an idiot, as she does when cars come up the drive…
Afternoon, mumpers! It’s Tuesday again so my day to be in the campus office on my lonesome. It’s finally sunny out there but not warm, there are threatening grey clouds about and the promise of rain. So far I’ve avoided any rain on my walk to the station (just over a mile), and whilst trundling around campus. I have a 10 minute walk from the university station to my office, and I went on an expedition across to the music building to see a colleague over there. Just need dry weather for the return journey to get me home. Then it can bucket down all it wants.
Busy and productive day here, I put some music on and have been getting on with stuff, unhindered by 'im indoors and the demands of cats. I don’t suppose for a moment that he’s kept up with their requirements for being in, or out, fed, not fed, and having the litter trays pristine the second they have been used. That’ll be waiting for me when I get home too. Then it’s grocery shopping, but fortunately not my night to cook so I can at least have a bit of sofa time when we get back from the supermarket.
Such an exciting life I lead, you’re jealous, are you not?
I was in the ER Sunday. I’ve been having swelling in my right foot and my sister thought it was cellulitis. So she took me in ans after tests, including an ultrasound it was figured to be cellulitis, not a blood clot. I’m home with some antibiotics.
Heaved, clerked, pulled cages. Naptime.
an unknown woman scooting around on some sort of little vehicle
swampy’s Mob girlfriend, no doubt.

Glad it’s not more serious. {{{baker}}}}
I had to Google “cellulitis” but it seems serious enough to me. Glad your sis dragged you off for mess.

Taking a TV break after a bunch of quality time in the basement. The house smells yummy thanks to the ribs. Still no call from the plumber, but it’s not like I’m in a rush. Daughter will fetch her spawn after a staff meeting and a trip to Food Lion, so it could be after 4 before she gets here. No biggie, just a comment.
My social security was deposited today, which is good, since I was down to $130 in checking. Now I can afford to pay my mortgage! So next week when my pension is deposited, I’ll be RICH!!! Mwahahahahaha!!!
It’s oscillating between grey and sunny and warm and hot. I’m both really looking forward to and also dreading when the kids get out of school next week. At least I’ll have a week off of shuttling them different places, but they’ll also be underfoot like nobody’s business.
I haven’t managed to get hold of my stepmom, but I’m trying to give her a little space since she’s dealing with a lot but I hate how out of control I feel. In the meantime I’m getting in my revenge runs, which is good. And my backyard looks awesomer than it has since we moved in 15 years ago. Even better, I saw this pair of neon blue bluebirds hanging out in one of our trees. I was kind of absurdly happy. Also, I finally got a little bistro table & chairs I for the front porch. 'Twill look amazing, I think.
Good things exist to make the terrible things less terrible.
I first read that as ‘osculating’.
Kinda sad this morning. Vinnie finally came out of the bedroom around 10, quivering and holding his right back foot off the floor, and generally looking miserable. He’s not injured. I think it’s just his arthritis. Anyway, between Gibbs and myself we finally persuaded him to go outside and after he walked around a bit he seems to be happier and moving better. He was 14 a couple months ago, which I’m told is getting old for a Schnauzer. I gave him bites of my fried egg this morning. He’s gone back to bed now.
Toda I suppose I should play another round of phone tag with the GI clinic to try to schedule my colonoscopy. I was in the shower Thorsday and missed their call. When i called them back I had to listen to their Og-awful hold music, interspersed with “Your call is very important to us, Did you know…?” for 20 minutes until someone picked up but couldn’t connect me with the person who called. (?) Friday I called again, but nobody ever answered. Yesterday I just plain forgot. I don’t want a colonoscopy anyway. I may have to drive out there again.
Other things I need to do: Go through my shirts, and the clothes on the shelves, in my closet and pick out a bunch of stuff to donate. (I did my pants a couple weeks ago) Wifey donated 2 huge boxes of her clothes already, so that argument is right out.
And I could go through the power tools in the garage and decide what needs to find new homes. I don’t need 5 routers for instance. Or 6 drills. 'Sides, one of my friends has already said that when I’ve got them sorted, he wants first crack at them. Maybe he’ll be able to use some of them.
OR, I could box up some more train stuff. I’ve got 3 big totes full, and at least another tote’s worth still laying about.
I hate moving.
OMG, the ribs were sooooooooo good! Literally falling off the bones! There’s tons left over, and I think it’ll become pulled poke. I also wedged some russets, rubbed them with oil, sprinkled the rib rub over them and cooked them in the air fryer - very yum! Plus we finished off 3 containers of assorted leftovers, which is a definite success!
The plumber had a particularly long job, so I’m rescheduled for tomorrow morning between 7:30-8:30. No biggie for me - I’m almost always up before 6. And that way, I won’t be stuck here waiting all day - I can take Roxy to the playground.
So now I shall assume the afghaning position. Chillage shall ensue.
