Morning all - trying to avoid work today and I will definitely be leaving early, firstly to go and pick up HRH’s final dose of meds from the hospital pharmacy, and secondly just because I can, since all the partners are currently in Spain, wasting time and pretending to be important!
Puck, that dog is fugly, in a strangely cute and endearing way!

Taters, I wish I my clothes were falling off - my weight just yoyos up and down around the same 10# range, when I really need to lose about 30#!

The Israeli Postal Authority’s logo is a sort of stylized hart or deer. The Hebrew word for hart is “tzvi.” The Hebrew word for turtle is “tzav.” The jokes and the puns just write themselves…

So, my, er, problem is still around… I almost went to the emergency room last night, but it wasn’t quite that bad. Plus, then, TVMan would have been stuck there with me or else he would’ve had to call his parents to come pick him up very late at night. :dubious: That wouldn’t have gone over too well.

Tomorrow is my Friday off, but we’ll see. At least I won’t come in at the buttcrack of dawn! If the frickin’ animals will let me sleep. I woke up around 3:00 am and the dogs knew I was awake - Ernie’s coughing again, too. Dammit. I managed to stay in bed until 4:30. I keep dreaming about work, too. I hate it when I do that - it feels like I’m working all day and then all night!

Cutie, you can’t switch doctors under health insurance in the US? Even if you’re not satisfied with the one you are using? Or are you saying you can do that, but you’d actually have to switch and you can’t just go in for a “second opinion.”?
By Og’s flaming nipples, it’s freezing out there. The day is salvaged only by the fact that there’s little more than a light breeze out. Had it been windy, this would have been one of those vicious days that makes you curse nature in all its wretched decrepitude. But it isn’t. Yet, anyway. I’m going to stockpile some juicy Canada Grade A oaths for the trip home, just in case it picks up. Isn’t it just about time for spring yet?
I also got some proper paid hosting for the blog last night. Pointed the domain server over to the new address, but now I can’t bloody transfer the site. Specifically I can’t get the damn SQL database with all of the posts and comments and stuff to import. Whatta pain in the ass this is. Spent several hours and sacrificed too much sleep trying to figure out, and I still haven’t.
Well, anyway, I’m caffeinated, mostly vertical, and grateful that it’s almost Friday.
Swampus - Well, yes, you are one of the lucky ones who got to be born with ample amounts of that natural beauty and charm. Sadly, most of the rest of us schlemiels* need to work on it just to achieve moderate levels of hey-you’re-not-that-hideous-after-all.
Hockey Monkey - Hey, I met a dog like that once. I don’t remember what happened after that, but when I came to my wallet was gone, there was a slobber-covered bottle of MD20/20 by my feet, and a set of of slimy paw prints led to a partially-open sewer grate, whence emanated the occasional shuffling sound punctuated with a sharp squeal and a low growl. I decided at that point that I didn’t much care for New Jersey.
Back to work which I have no enthusiasm for today.

Taters, the bathrooms are Mexicana (downstairs) and Mayflower red (master bath). Who knows where the color names come from. Also, hope you can find some food to start agreeing with you soon. Weight loss is good, but not through an inability to eat! Take care of yourself. Oh and have fun with the six sigma training. (Yuck! Blech! That’s part of why I’m no longer in industrial engineering. I hated that stuff.)

I’ve lived with a jew for three years now and the only yiddish I’ve picked up from him is kvetch. (Apparently his mother is very good at it.) My Hewbrew is limited to Barukh ata Adonai Eloheinu melekh ha‑olam… Maybe some day I’ll learn something else.

Terra what about designing an itinerary for visiting MMPers. Where in DC would you take us? You could even guess who would like certain things and who would hate them. For example, those of us from the city wouldn’t have a problem with the subway, but those from the middle of nowhere might not like it as much. Those of us with a literary bend would be awed and amazed with the Library of Congress, but others would be bored out of their minds. Just an idea.

Taxi, I love love love the pale green in your sitting area. I wanted to paint my study that colour, but I was overruled by The Boy (who is very green-phobic). It looks like a very comfy-cozy house.
Noonie, thanks for the lesson… I plan on using that word next time one of our Israeli developers feels the need to drag their heels on fixing a system issues - maybe it’ll goad them into prioritizing my issue just to avoid getting called something worse.
