It was a horse, it was an MMP

Have another drink, swampster! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m here, just not feeling too talkative today.

I took my son to the mall so he could finally use his Christmas gift cards. He $75.00 worth of gift cards for Penneys and ended up getting about five or six shirts and he still had just over a dollar left on the cards.

Other than that, not a hell of a lot is going on.

I have a heating pad ***turned on ***already. Does that make me competitive? And, yeah, have another martoony!

The pace of excitiement rises - I just ate an orange. Oh yes I did…

Was this prior to or after you turned on the mattress pad?

Oh and trehe martoonis down here.

Orange after turn-on. Of course.

I’m here, sans martoonies, but still feeling like there’s a 20lb weight on my bladder.

Glad to see you checking in, Taters.

Oglibatroy drkunen psto. I lveo yuo gysu!

Goin’ beddye bye now!

So not only is Brazil the number one insanest movie I’ve ever seen, I had to pause it halfway through because I got a call from my Mountain Buddy that it’s real and happening to his crazy uncle as we speak.  More details when the local news gets official with them.

Can’t sleep…government’ll get me…can’t sleep…government’ll get me…

So I am back at work to verify the inventory counts

But I had a fun afternoon with Mr ems-to-be

Messican food tonight then vodka I think after the crappy week I had

Toodles!

Hi Taters! Not sure how I missed you earlier. Hugs…

The excitement chez GT has moved up a notch. Am now watching an episode of Remington Steele.

Ain’t that like a razor? Why would there be an episode about a razor? Oh wait… that’s the guy from The Nanny right?

Oh and I’m through drinkin’ martoonis for the night.

For real, off to beddy bye now.

Nitey Nite!

Yay for Mr. ems-to-be arriving!

Good to see you, kai! And what makes you think we’d even notice if your postings are pointless and random? That’s the MMP specialty!

Okay, I think I definitely did too much work in the last ten days or so. How did I notice this, you may ask yourselves? Well, because for one thing, I worked for 24 hours and 15 minutes straight  – that’s right, from 8:30 a.m. Thursday to 8:45 a.m. Friday – and then was so tired that I essentially slept for all but three of the next 28 hours!   Yeah, I haven’t felt that worn out in I don’t know HOW long.

Note to self: Perhaps it’s time to practice a little moderation in workload!

Anyway, today has been a lazy day, thank heaven. I’m still basically devoid of energy, but at least I’m no longer sleepy. Looks like it’s been quiet around here, although how we went from crab cakes to sex with mac & cheese is a bit of a mystery.

Glad you found a petsitter, Moooom! I hope she works out well. We’ve got a good one, too, although we’ll use a kennel when we take snowbunny’s stuff out to her in May since that’s thunderstorm season and Rusty does better in a kennel when it’s storming.

You asked how I get paid? It’s strictly by the page. But when you consider that a court reporter’s page contains about 1/3 the text of a normal page – we use strictly Courier font, either 25-line 10-pitch or 22-line 9-pitch, depending on the client – and paragraphs are indented 10 spaces, and so on and so forth. Plus I get paid for any page that contains 5 lines or more. Or, in the case of congressional [del]drivel[/del] work, a page that contains anything. Rates range from $1.50 to $2.25 a page, and on a good day, I can make several hundred dollars since I get my pick of the highest paying work. Reporters get an appearance fee plus they get paid a (much smaller) per-page amount, too. I used to do that, but it’s so BORING sitting there listening to all that blather and not being able to get up and move around whenever you want to. I’ve been tied to a desk in a court session for far too long at a stretch, some judges apparently having the kidneys of a camel!

Anyway, that’s more than you wanted to know, I’m sure. My only wish is that the workload would be more even; it’s either feast or famine. But as much as I bitch, only about 10% of it is real bitching; the rest is just cause I can.

Back to zoning out.l And maybe even doing a little knitting. Or maybe not; my hands are still tired, which never happens – I guess I really did overdo it!

Today has been booorrriiinnnggg. I read most of the day away, I am home alone, so I have my music on, and I guess things aren’t too bad. I was going to go out and take photos of whatever might be showing some new spring growth, but it has been a blustery, rainy day, which has turned into a blustery, snowy evening, so here are some other photos for your viewing pleasure!

Oh, Mama Tigs, you have no idea how pointless and random I can become! :stuck_out_tongue:

Outside my hall window there is snow on a spruce branch. It’s attached to this tree trunk.

My favorite girl Satine smiles.

Alpha cat Kazzpurr,
the brothers Jack and Bo, and their sister Callaloo

TTTL!

Canes win! I was there! Frank hit somebody! I’m off tomorrow! I lack gin.

Glad you feel less tired, Mama Tigs. Ya know, when I was a child I used to watch 3 hours of C-SPAN a day.

Glad you found a sitter, FCM.

:waves at kai:
Possible dunken prost later.

You might be getting an earlier start than you thought.

:waves at db:

Yay Canes! Yay for hitting in hockey! Bleck for the gin, however. Unless it’s Sloe Gin, then I’m in! (ha! I rhymed!)

Hey Roo! :bounce bounce bouncitty bounce!

Wow, Kai pet pics! And Kodiak snow too! Seriously, Kai, thanks for the pics, especially the pet ones–Satine is indeed a lovely lady (and she does appear to be smiling!) and the cats are beautiful as well (what a pretty calico Callaloo is!).

MamaTigs, at one point I had thought about doing transcription work from home, but I don’t think I’d do very well at it, especially now that I’ve heard your complaints about the work. ducks I had checked into medical transcription, but you have to be very familiar with all sorts of medical terminology, plus you do have to make an investment in the hardware/software to do the work. Then there’s my hearing … I’m not sure that I could understand what was being said; I’ve been having problems the past couple of years discerning words, unfortunately. :frowning: At any rate, it does sound like very hard work, and tedious too; I commend you for being able to do it.

All quiet here tonight - we had ribs with a sesame/ginger/teriyaki barbeque sauce tonight - boy that sauce was delicious! I cooked them in the crock pot and they were falling off the bone. I need to get a new crock pot; I’ve worn the wheels off of this one, unfortunately!

I’m almost finished reading “Comanche Moon,” by Larry McMurtry. Anyone got any suggestions for my next read? And I’m preparing my first OP for Monday, which I’ll probably post just after midnight. I hope it will go well!!

Hey kai!! :bouncing in reply:

~waving~ Nice to see you!

Morning all. Meh! More later …
