Just got back from TVLand and still not feeling great so I passed on my shopping chores to one of my employees.
Just a few minutes after I got home, though, I saw this and had to pass it on. (under his left paw is a partially eaten treat that he’s guarding from his brother and sister.)
Don’t ask questions!
For answers though, I’m your man. Scooting into the finish, here’s the race so far kiddo!
The race it yours. Don’t get nervous, don’t jerk the wheel. You’ve got a good pace going and Haze is far enough back in your window. I didn’t want to say anything before, but I got a fiver on yah.
beebs, you are causing trouble again. Ooops, almost forgot that’s your job.
I woke up at 6 or so, then went back to sleep for a while, then had to get up and get ready to get churchified. Then I went to Borders and bought far too many books (a couple are birthday presents for my brother) and some books for me and a couple of magazines.
I was feeling really stressed this morning, so I decided I would do distracting things today, including getting outside to work a bit in the garden, because it’s actually fairly warm outside and sunny. We’ll see what gets done.
Oh…and as another cheerer-upper, I went to the local nursery and bought a few tropical plants that will do nicely in containers this summer. I also bought a Veggie Tales Greenhouse Learning Cactus Kit Garden. They’re growing one at the nursery and showed me how it was doing and I had a nice chat with the cashier (about weddings, of all things, because the couple ahead of me were buying flowers for their wedding and are doing just about everything themselves - does this sound familiar, FCM?).
So, anyway, I’m off to the great outdoors for a bit and will be back to report progress once I’ve made some…
I son’t wanna go to work! I don’t wanna! Then I remember that lovely prescription card and getting $140 worth of meds for $40 and I go put my makeup on.
Done. The back yard looks less leafified. All told, it took less than 2 hours, and that included stopping to reattach the stoopit rake handle. I think I dumped 4 loads of mulched leafies, 3 in the back, 1 out front (because I forgot to dump before driving around to park the mulcher in the garage.) I also figured out that if I detach the mulcher hose from the mower and lay it on the ground, I can rake leafies directly into it, which makes it handy for places where towing is impossible.
It’s in the low 50s out, but I still managed to work up a sweat - it was a very aerobic adventure. After I got done, when I was moving the picnic table and benches back to where they belong, I let the doggies come out. And stoopit Bernie felt it was necessary to roll in the leaf residue. What a mess in her coat! So she got a bonus brushing out of the deal.
And I’m done being productive for the day. I picked up some crab legs when I was at the store, so that’s supper. I also got some blood oranges - yum! Gonna have one shortly.
Morning all. Just a drive-by - have lots of grading to do. I feel like I’ve barely been keeping up with my own life lately. Yesterday I hung out with a bunch of friends which included That Guy and Victorian Heroine. I haven’t seen either of them in awhile - That Guy and I both have insane workloads this semester. I usually don’t mind hanging out with them, but for some reason it really wore down on my nerves last night - That Guy was being overly affection with VH, which strongly reminded me of the first time him and I tried to break it off, but at the same time he kept sneaking looks at me when he thought no one was paying attention, and it was driving me nuts. Things were definitely tense, although I doubt anyone noticed - unless they were looking for it, I suppose. I almost want to go back to Korea just to escape all this.
But I just went outside, and it’s warm for the first time in MONTHS. That cheered me up a little bit.
Went to the mawl. Bought the Kid a Mango Smoothie, got my watch band adjusted, bought a couple shirts, went to a cool irish bar I like for lunch had a coupla beerverages, and I do believe it’s nap time.
You should be very, very proud of Papa Tigs and me. We went to the Chesapeake Gourmet store at the outlet maul, and we left with only one extra thing beyond the one item on our shopping list. That is one of the most dangerous kitchenware/gourmet whatever stores anywhere, so we were very proud of ourselves, too.
Then we took the Idiots for a nice long walk along the hike/bike trail. Well, technically it was a “walk” – on the outbound leg, Rusty decided he wanted to RUN! I was walking him, so he just grabbed his leash between his teeth and urged me to get a move on until I tested my new knee with actual jogging. I am pleased to report that my knee survived the experience beautifully; the only problem was that I really needed to pee, so Rusty didn’t get to run as long as he wanted to. But it was nice to know I can actually move around like a normal, active person again. Yay for new knees!
Come to think of it, my year anniversary for my new knee was four days ago. So I guess I shouldn’t call it a new knee any more, it’s just my bioknee. Yay for bioknees!
I forgot to mention that the other day I ordered a new litter box to use with our pine pellet litter. It is really, really nice! It keeps the litter dry all the time by just shaking the sawdust stuff through to the bottom, plus it makes the box much easier to clean. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s using that litter.
Done and done. We had crab legs for our early supper - I had some left in the freezer, and I bought a little more today. I also made some peas and some corn. Not bad as meals go. **FCD ** cleaned up after, so that was nice. I just came back in from taking the doggies out. Again. It’s a little chilly to be out there in slippers.
Another weekend bites the dust. But this is a broken week - I have my last jury duty on Weds, and that beats sitting in cubicle land. Part of this week’s duty will include the jail inspection tour. I’m kinda looking forward to that.
I want a cookie. Or a brownie. Guess I’ll have to be satisfied with an orange. It ain’t the same…
I have brownies at home. And they’re sinful as all get-out. The local grocery store kicks some serious butt.
I’m on an adrenaline high, because I was just crunching numbers concerning my current bills, and I’m going to be able to make it this pay period. So once a certain deposit arrives tomorrow I can take care of a few things that really need to be taken care of. And I’ll have money left afterwards to eat with until I get paid again!
The last week has not been fun, with hormone-fueled anxiety about money. Sleep? What’s sleep? But I’m gonna be okay. I really am.
A little more than an hour to go. I can do it. So far today it’s been sloooooooow. knocking wood, or at least fake wood, frantically
I, too, spent a couple of hours in the great outdoors. Cleaned up all kinds of stuff in the garden. And feel much better as a result.
Now I’m planning tomorrow’s lunch (egg salad, crackers, a green salad, some mangoes) and considering dinner. I’m thinking oatmeal, for some reason. Not sure what else. Maybe an apple?
Guess I’ll also catch up on some e-mail and maybe watch Night at the Museum (they had it on sale at Borders).
Might be back after a while. If not, I’ll see everyone in the next MMP.
