It's 3 AM, and I found this hysterical.

Currently I’m getting my a$$ mercilessly kicked by this essay. It’s an analysis of this weird poem, “Sappho to Philaenis” by John Donne, which is the first known poem in European poetry that portrayed Sappho as a lesbian.

As I sat down to start writing it, I could hear the drunk people in my floor’s lounge. One of the girls wouldn’t stop screaming “I MADE OUT WITH GIRLS!!! I MADE OUT WITH GIRLS!!!”

I spent the next 20 minutes cracking up.

Is that actually funny, or should I get some sleep?

And should I make that the title of my essay? :stuck_out_tongue:

I can certainly see that being funny, especially if you’ve been hittin the books hard.

I think everyone needs a middle-of-the-night, fried-brain title for stuff they do. With enough white-out and disk-space for the real title the middle of the day brings.

I dunno, it’s 10:50am and I’ve had 8 solid hours of sleep, and I find it hilarious. 'Course I’m a big goof, so who knows?
I MADE OUT WITH GIRLS!!!

You know…there’s this girl I know who goes to an all women’s college, and she has always wanted to be bi, but never had the guts or found the right girl. Then this one night she IM’s me while drunk saying pretty much only that. Made me laugh then, makes me laugh now.

Okay, I think that’s hysterical. That might just be because I’m a rabid Donne AND Sappho fan. A Classicist and former Renaissance English Lit major is a deadly combination. Anyway. Daowajan, I’m amused. Make it the title of your paper, definitely. Include a footnote with this anecdote if you feel you must.
