It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Ah, blessed Fridays! Even though I’ve been on vacation for 2 months, Fridays are still sweet. I just got back from a Bevmo run, and am currently kicked back with a nicely chilled bottle of Stone Pale Ale resting on my more-than-ample belly?

So, what are you drinking?

HA! All the Google ads have to do with alcohol rehab!

I’m drinking the finest Chardonnay Peter Vella ever put in a box. I drink no wine before its time. If the glue is dry on the cardboard, it’s time.

My Google ads are for Drinking Game Products, Designer Bottle Openers and BioTech Inst Parts & Serv.

That last one sounds ominous.

Carolina Nut Brown Ale.

I get octabong ads.

I like that freckafree, I too drink wine from a box. Now if they would just put wine in smaller more portable packages like kids juice boxes.

An ice-cold martini (Bombay Sapphire gin, Noilly Prat vermouth) with two huge olives. My wife is enjoying a glass of French chardonnay.

We’ll have dinner in a while, but cocktail hour comes first. Especially on Fridays.

I’m having coffee. I know, lame, but I’m working nights and I need the caffeine to stay alive.

If my job didn’t involve people’s lives, I’d add something fun to the coffee.

My wife’s favorite libation! Try Three Olives Vodka some time in a Martini…very nice.

I’m sticking to the beer theme, but I’ve shifted to Pyramid Brewing’s Thunderhead IPA.

I don’t know whether you made this up or stole it from some other red-nosed wit, but my GOD that is the funniest thing I have read in a loooooong time.

::bows and curtseys before greatness::

:stuck_out_tongue:

My Google ads are all for growing mushrooms. Since we’re drinking, I think a wee dram of Glenmorangie Cellar 13 single malt would do.

We’re sticking with our original choices, now that we’re on our second round. But I must say–thanks for the tip on the Three Olives. I’ll look for it.

I’ve had Pyramid beers when I’ve been in Seattle. Nice beers, but I don’t believe I’ve had their IPA. I’ll try it next time I’m there. I like a good, hoppy, IPA.

You mean like this? (It might be hard to tell from that picture, but it’s a 4 pack of 250 ml tetra paks (juice boxes) of wine.

There are a few others that are packaging in single-serve tetra paks as well. And there’s always sparkling in a can.
Tonight I opened a bottle of Kenwood’s 2003 Sonoma County Zinfandel. Nice full body. Fruit forward- raspberry, cherry, vanilla, with a grippy finish. A pretty well-balanced wine and a steal since I scored it for 50% off at the winery a couple of weekends ago.

Not too much, as Saturday is my Friday. But I did have a nice Sam Adams Summer Ale with dinner.

All ya’ll are pretty hoity and toity in here. Gimme a Amstel Light!

The wife being away this week, we have now shifted to this.

Obviously the cumulative effect is starting to kick in, otherwise I wouldn’t be using the Imperial “We.”

And how does our W. L. Weller 12 stack up to other drinks of the bourbon persuasion?

Well, that’s only because tonight I’m going for quality rather than quantity. Saturday night I’ll be downing silver bullets like a madman.

Mmm. Sounds like a liquid wonderland.

I’m on my second glass of Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel. sil, what’re some of those drinking games? Bust 'em out.

Weller 12 is a very nice everyday bourbon. Reasonably priced, and very tasty. The wheat gives it a mellow character. If you like Maker’s Mark, you’ll like Weller. Of course, the only reason I’m drinking the 12 is because I’m out of Antique. If there is one secret I could share with all of Doperdom, it’s Antique. Cheap and wonderful.
