It's a hot time in the old town tonight!

OK, it’s not ‘tonight’. But it’s 85º/30º up here. Plenty warm for me, and I’ll be inland at the Abbotsford Airshow mañana. Could be worse. I could still be in L.A.! (Actually, it’s about 6ºF-10ºF cooler down there according to a couple of sites I checked. Go figure.)

Nice day to get on the motorcycle. Not so nice with protective gear. Yes, I know. It’s a calculated risk. I went up to the currency exchange and got some Canadian money, went to the drug store for camera batteries, onto the freeway to open it up a little, down to the gas station, along the beach, and then home.

OK, now it’s uncomfortably warm in the house.

My husband subscribes to the idea of ATGATT (“all the gear, all the time,” for the uninitiated). After a couple of summers of riding with full armored protective gear, he finally went out and bought some Kevlar jeans. They are better for riding, but he ends up hot anyway because he finds them heavy for just walking around. It took a few times before he remembered to bring along some regular jeans if he was spending any time off of the bike.

It was hot, Hot, HOT in Port Dover yesterday for Friday the 13th. Luckily the lake was a nice temperature for swimming. Unluckily, a family of four going swimming meant carrying a duffel bag of towels, etc. around all day…

It was 33 degrees C here this afternoon, which Google tells me is 91.4 in American. That’s hot for us!

Much cooler here today – thunderstorms last night, and kind of windy and overcast today.

Thank Christ – last week’s humidity was interminable.

My old supervisor from a previous life was at the Sounders game last night. He said it was cold down on the field (in L.A.). It’s supposed to be another hot one up here today. I’ll wear a hat to the airshow. I hope there’s a breeze.

I agree. We visited with my daughter & family in B’ham this weekend. I thought the NW was supposed to be rainy and cool, but we about roasted on Saturday. Especially when we made the mistake of going to the Vancouver Zoo and about died in the heat from walking around.

Heh…Southern California is having its coldest summer in ~75 years. Wish you were here.

It’s 110F inside the drive-up burger joint my daughter works at.
