Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 70 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. I hope it does. Got nuttin’ I have to go out for so it’d be a good time for a nice, stormy day.
Rosie I have butter softenin’ to make chawklit chip pee-kahn cookies later today. I knew you’d want to know.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. I should wait a while to make brekkies cause a certain somebody is still aslumber. We shall see.
Thanks everyone! It was a good day. I got to wear my pretty new dress and everything.
We dressed and bundled up my grandparents and took them along. And then after the ceremony we all went out to dinner.
Today I’m going to be cleaning up the house and especially my bedroom because the great mystery of the day was wondering what happened to the snazzy new tights that matched my dress which I never did find.
**FCD **got up with Higgs at 5, fed her, and put her back in her crate, and I got to sleep for 2 more hours. He’s still crashed, but I’m awake and feeling almost human. Yay!
It’s sitting at freezing here and it could rise another 10°. I saw on the weather radar that there’s all kinds of snow and cold and ick west and north of us, but we’re just supposed to get some rain, so yay! We’re doing this today - it’s something I’ve wanted to see since we moved here, and today’s the day. I’m hoping I can find a neato $10 gift for our crazy exchange in Ocala.
Other plans include laundry and making a squid-shaped pillow for the kid. And knitting. And surfing for now.
I’ve washed and dried sheets which are back on the bed and washed and dried a load of towels which are all folded and put away. Plus, chawklit chip cookies are baked. Go Me!
Second load of laundry is in the washer. First load in the dryer. And I found my White Elephant for the goofy Christmas exchange. It’s an old, rusty-ish popcorn popper - the kind one uses in a fireplace. I’m trying to decide whether to just wash it up as is, or sand it and spray gold paint on it. Whaddaya think?
MOOOOOOM I say spray paint it gold. Tell 'em it’s an original King Midas popcorn popper!
Two more loads of laundry all washed, dried and put away. Ok, I could iron some shirts but I ain’t up to that right now. It feels more like nappy poo time.
Had a first at work yesterday - apparently parking where I did ‘dissed’ a gentleman of the city, so he slashed the passenger front tire of my work van. Took a couple hours to get a spare tire brought to us and put on.
Then later in the evening the same truck failed to get a working live shot, so we had to scramble with a replacement truck at the last minute. It all worked out in the end, but it was tough.
I’m up for realz now.
This running downstairs to the cold bathroom in the basement is getting old as well as whoever was there last used the last of the TP. I searched the entire bathroom and couldn’t find anymore so I had to search for some tissues.
The I have to come up to Sah-dog whining his fool head off because he gets upset when I go downstairs. I don’t want him waking the entire house at 4am.
The living room is all cleaned up and we even have a small tabletop tree. I hear my mother really went off on the HFH for turning the living room into her own personal warehouse and told her to get her stuff out of the living room. Supposedly they are buying a house and moving out when he gets back from where ever it is he is working and supposedly my mother laid down the law that he is not coming back here. My mother said this house isn’t big enough for 6 people and 4 dogs and that they had overstayed their 2-3 months (it’s was 2 years this month) and she can’t take it anymore.
I say supposedly because I wasn’t here and didn’t hear any of it, I’m just getting second hand information.
I knew she was getting close to snapping, she’s been bitching to me for months about the hoard in the living room and the dogs messing up the house.
Sahirrnee, do you think, perhaps, as a reminder of their stupidity, they deserve to be woken up at 0400? I mean, a toilet is not very complicated, and any moron who can use a screwdriver as a hammer should be able to fix it…
From what I hear the tank needs to be taken off and we don’t have the right size wrench. I’m no toilet expert but I can’t imagine you have to remove the tank to replace the innards.
I prefer to let them sleep, it’s quieter that way. Besides, I’ve seen my mother’s bf come out of the bedroom in his undies once already and that was more than enough for this lifetime.

Too bad Windows users don’t realize that.

Back when I supported flocks of *nix servers, I often wished the sysadmins knew better than to be root while drowsy. One memorable day, I got a page from someone in a panic as they killed the mother ship server that controlled the other two hundred servers. Fun day. Not.
**sari **- no snow here - in fact, we had maybe 20 drops of rain on the windshield on our trip to St. Clements and back. I got to taste some hot chocolate made as it would have been in colonial days. Rather than being sweet like Swiss Miss, it had a suggestion of cinnamon or another similar spice. It was quite good.
I got my exchange gift, and **FCD **got some cool earrings for our daughter. I’ve got the last load of laundry in the dryer and I just finished a ham sammich. It’s a nice, lazy day.
**Tugig **- possums are nasty critters - I hates them!!! We used to have some living under our shed, but I haven’t seen the in ages.
Yup. This is a very old cottage with lots of ways into what was a crawlspace before the basement was dug out. Were I the owner I might consider tightening the joint up, but I really don’t know where to start even if I wanted to.
The bottom line is there is nothing in there the possum can bother, so I leave him be.
I had a raccoon try to break in my house earlier this year in the middle of the night. THAT time almost ended up being ugly (we’ve had a few crime issues around here in the last year). Once I realized it was a critter I was able to suggest to it that it should go, and it did.
It’s -20 degrees here (-4 American) and I did a lot of shopping and had many cold waiting times for buses today. I think I’ll hide inside for the rest of the day.
