It's a New Traditions MMP

I have to brave the cold and go walk hellpup.
Not piddlepup, hellpup.
Piddlepup is a blonde cocker spaniel who can’t hold her bladder, hellpup is 120 pound newfie with the nervous energy of chihuahua.
The helhounds are springer spaniels with heads like rocks and no manners.
I swear my brain is on overload and i don’t know what the hell I am doing.
Not enough sleep and I feel woozy. The fresh air will do me some good I hope.

I need to chill.

My new tradition is not returning home for the holidays until I have a girlfriend to show my family. I’m sick of returning home the eternally girlfriend-less loser of the family. I just told them today.

So in other words, I’m never returning home to my parents again.

Happy Humping day all

That’s all I got.

Currently 80 Murkin degrees here. What happened to the cooler weather? Not that I’m complaining 'zactly.

Irk is very boring right now. Too quiet. Also, a rumor is spreading that the VP candidate everyone hates may get the job. ::sigh::

That’s all I got.

New tradition, I guess! Due to hypertension the whole time I was in the hospital last week, and a checkup with my GP Monday, I officially have high blood pressure. Since I was unceremoniously weaned from caffeine during my 50+ hours fast (seriously, ouch), it looks like I’m switching to mostly green tea. Nothing earth shattering, just contemplating how my mornings look while sipping a different cuppa before getting ready for the day. Still a little caffeine, but not like what I’ve been used to over the last, what, 20 years?

Lucky southeastern states, I thought the whole country was frozen.

Howdy from da cave! Three down and two to go! Leftover beastloaf and mac 'n cheese for dindin. I shall also cook up some white acre peas so’s there will be a veggie.

MOG’s ex-MIL (with whom MOG was still very close) died early this morning. She was complaining of pain, went to the ER where it was discovered she had a hole in her colon. She was rushed to surgery but the surgeon said the whole (tear I guess) was too big and there’s no way she would survive. She was 85 and in relatively good health too. Just goes to show, ya never know when it’s your time, I reckon. I knew Mae as I’m also friends with MOG’s ex. Mae was a sweet lady and will be missed by many, many folks.

Inky (or do we have another nickname) glad you’re out of the horsepistol and on the mend.

Ok, off to surf around a bit, then get dindin ready. Tonight is also Evening Prayer over to the church house.

I haven’t done anythign today, beside trip over Gordie. He wasn’t this clingy when I worked 75 hours a week.:dubious:

But you got rid of the 13 foot Czech because he was bad?

Jim, I’ll summarize for you because I’m nice, dammit!

In 1983, I was newly arrived in Jacksonville, FL and immediately deployed to Sicily for 6 months. I decided when I returned that I’d take sailing lessons because I wanted to learn and I hoped to meet some people. **FCD **was the sailing instructor. After 2 weeks of classroom instruction, we spent a day on the water, and that evening, he and I had our first date - we went to see The Big Chill. Next day, we went to the beach, and he told me (not asked me) that I’d marry him. A few days later, he’d pretty much moved in.

We talked about doing the traditional wedding thing, but neither of us really cared, so we decided to run to the courthouse after we got our blood tests back (FL still required them back then.) We went to the courthouse and got the license, but they didn’t do marrying there and the clerk directed us to a local accounting office. Notaries can do marriages in FL, so we stood in Norris Bookkeeping and Accounting, said our “I do” and had 2 total strangers sign as our witnesses (they were working in the back.) We stopped at McD’s because it was right there and we didn’t have a lot of time - court-martial, you know.

That evening, we went out to dinner, and the next day we went to see his folks (they lived in Jax) and he opened the conversation with “Guess what we did yesterday!” We told my folks 2 weeks later when we drove to Baltimore for Christmas - first thing my dad said was “You’re not pregnant, are you??” Thanks, Dad…

And we lived happily ever after. I wouldn’t recommend going this route to just anyone, but I was 29 and he was 27, so it’s not like we were idiot kids.

And with half of the week behind me, I’m beat. I have to iron some towels tonight to take to the store tomorrow, and I’ve got one hat to finish. Supper was sketties and I have enough left over for tomorrow’s lunch. It’s freekin’ cold out. Higgs went to the vet today - she’s 15# and healthy - they remarked on how unusual it was to see a non-fat pug. Huzzah for svelt Higglet!

Happy Wednesday. C’mon Firday!!!

Thanks MOOOOOOM

Now tell me about the Court Martial.
Yeah for Higgs

Band practice tonight woot woot

Jim

Cancelled Czech.

Anything to reference a Star Trek episode.
Shame!

Busted

::hangs head in shame::

Jim

As for the court martial - the kid was kicked out of the Navy. He was a mess and I’m pretty sure he wanted out.

And on that note, I’m going to iron my towels to set the paint…

One more day of school for me. I am a mix of emotions. Thus, I posted a long happy sad post on fb.

I’d better get to work on my thank you baskets for tomorrow.

Dinner is Italian chicken with cheesy Parmesan rice. I was afraid I’d killed the MMP for a bit.

Flytrap, at least he’s not looking for Orion Slave Girls.:p:D

Where?

Home from Evening Prayer over to the church house. I was Slackolyte again and the place is still standin’ so overall I’d call it a win. ‘Twas a nice service as usual. YP’s wife came and brought their two and a half year old daughter, Ella Bella. After church Ella Bella wanted to know where were the cookies. See, after Sunday deheathenization, we Whiskypalians like to indulge in one of the lesser Sacraments known as Coffee Hour. There are, of course, cookies. Thus to Ella Bella, after church means cookie time. Nice to know she’s bein’ raised right. Oh, and yes, she did indeed get her cookie. Da bear went into the kitchen and got her a nice chawklit chip cookie from the stash in the pantry. I got an Ella Bella hug in return. So, big win-win there!

Now I don’t have to go out tomorrow. Hellpup has other arrangements for her potty break.
I had a bagel for dinner, not toasted, with cream cheese. Sah-dos shared it with me.

I feel like i don’t have anything to do when actually I have lots to do. Just nothing fun to do. It’s hard to get excited about putting laundry away or vacuuming my room.

One of my friends is planning a party for New Year’s Day and she told me to invite some of my friends.

JP having an SO isn’t always all it’s cracked up to be and you should live you life doing what you want instead of waiting for an SO. When you are doing what you want to do and living a full life is when the right person will come into it. You should never put your life on hold for anybody or anything.
People want to be in relationships with somebody who want to be in a relationship with them, not somebody who just wants to be in a relationship.

After a Jewish service there is also a meal and social time called “Oneg”.

So, two guys who don’t go to services are walking their dogs on Saturday.
Swampy says, “Hey Flytrap, this synagogue has a really good oneg! Let’s get a bite to eat!”
“We have dogs!” says Flytrap. “We can’t go in.”
“Watch”, replies Swampy, “and learn!”
Swampy puts on sunglasses and goes in the door.
“I’m sorry, Sir, you can’t bring a dog into the Synagogue.”
“This is a Seeing Eye dog!” replies Swampy.
“A chihuahua is a Seeing Eye dog?!?”
Swampy replies, “Oh! So* that’s* what they gave me!”

Yep. I’d rather wait longer, than get stuck with a loon.
