It's Always Monday Somewhere: The MMP

Morning all!

mr ems is at work but I have been awake since he left at 5.30. So far I have been for coffee and watched some daytime TV and some of the Betheny Ever After marathon on Bravo. Trashy/Guilty pleasure I know

I am going to go put in some time on the Eliptical (mr ems put it together yesterday) then go and stake my tomato plants up which I have been meaning to for over a week now. I did a whole bunch of cleaning/laundry yesterday so none of that nonsense today.

This afternoon it will be putting togther the greencard application package to mail out tomorrow - all forms are comepleted all the back up documentation is there I just need to date the forms and arrange them in a file with tabs and labels and stuff.

Right off to work out!

Shavuot I understand. So would Soapy; as would most of the mumpers, since the three of us have been hangin’ 'round here for so long.

Oh, I agree with you, there.

Heehee. But that wasn’t a transporter, it was a digitizer. Biiiig difference :D:cool:

Welcome. Pull up a piece of floor and have a seat. Nuthin’ formal here. How do you feel about rivvy as a nickname? We all have 'em.

I was hoping for something on LOGO to catch my eye, but I found the NCIS marathon on USA. Even better.

After spendin’ like felt like fourteen hours, though it was really only about four hours, defilthyfyin’ da cave I now agree with the self cleanin’ house. I want my self cleanin’ cave!

rivvy welcome! Pardon my manners for not welcomin’ you earlier but, well, I am a bear, so natch the manners are a bit gruff.

I’s hongry. Mayhaps I should go kidnap OYKW and get him to take me out to N.O.L.. Mayhaps, even better, I could call the good Mexican place, order takeout and take it over to his place. Then he could be dessert. I think I like that plan.

Sometime yesterday, I misplaced my phone, dammit. God, I hope I find it. Really don’t need a $400 replacement bill just now.

I’m extremely PMS’d, which I absolutely hate, because I don’t enjoy having hormones run rough shod over my brain. I’m trying to get away from easy fixes like comfort food, but that means I have to be grown up and do things like exercise and not whine. Grrrr.

Good morning everyone. I was up at 5:30 and the only productive things I’ve done are laundry and tending to the dogs.

I’ll have to shower in a bit as we’re supposed to be at our daughter’s place in about four hours or so and she lives 45 minutes away. The drive is longer if there’s a lot of traffic.

My MiL made a nice dinner for us yesterday and gave me a card and some pretty posies as a birthday gift.

I awoke to gray skies and rain, and the weather has been alternately rainy with spots of sun breaks.

I hope you find your phone, phouka.

Phoukabro just arrived home for lunch. I will ask him to call my phone.

We went to Bert’s for a burger - they have a shiny new menu with shiny new prices. A milkshake is now $5 - I don’t think I like them that much…

I’ve done 3 loads of laundry and they’re probably ready to be taken down now, but I’ll give it another hour - all that fresh air is good for jeans and towels and stuff, right? I also took care of the dishes. **FCD **has been futzing in his workshop - so far without bloodshed, which is a good thing.

It’s hot out and I didn’t work in the yard as I’d intended. Maybe tomorrow…

Heck, we can’t even agree on what day Monday is on this planet. Israel starts their week on Sunday, Saudi Arabia starts theirs on Sat. & this week’s special, in America today is Sunday II.
When I first read the last sentence quoted above, I missed the apostrophe & then my brain omitted the first “i” to spell a totally different word than what you had going. :smack: Just glad I can thank the troops without the need to put feathers in my underwear. :stuck_out_tongue:
As for me, today I’m Woody; quite literally. Out front I’m staining the garage door, which of course requires sanding first so I’m covered in sawdust. Out back, I’m making dinner, wafting in my favorite cologne, Eau du Hickory Smoke - mmmmm! (I prefer applewood, but am currently out.)
Ladies, forget the expensive perfume at the department store; instead go to the grocery store & get Liquid Smoke, it’s what $4 or $6 or so; a couple of dabs of that on the neck & the guys will be all over you!

Got off early, so I had a beer at 2:00 on a Monday afternoon.

Laundry is down folded or on hangers, and put away. **FCD **commented when I brought the baskets in that they were as warm as coming out of the dryer! Only they smell fresh and wunnerful!!!

N.O.L. and “dessert” has been had. Laundry is all done and put away. The rest of the day is chill time.

Hope you find your phone kanga.

I found my phone!

Bastard wasn’t even hiding. Sitting in the cupholder in plain view. Horrible thing.

Since then, I’ve been cleaning. Phoukabro is an interesting sort. Until he bought a Mini Cooper a few years ago, his DVD collection was worth more than his car. Now I think it’s a tie between his car and his DVD/comic collection. He owns his own home - a two bedroom townhouse with no lawn care (that was a prerequisite) - which is far more than I or phoukabro major can say.

Yet, as far as I can tell, he’s never actually cleaned the place. As in, swept, mopped, wiped down things, scrubbed the bathroom. He owns cleaning supplies, but they are scattered through the house.

So, I’ve cleaned the kitchen and am working on the downstairs bathroom. After that, vacuuming.

… And you haven’t even been exposed to Boston or Tel Aviv drivers… (says the guy who has been both :stuck_out_tongue: **)

“If English was good enough for Jesus Christ, it’s good enough for me!”

Yay!
And good luck on the continued job-hunt!

Changed the sheets, washing the last load, about to pack the suitcase, throw the disposables out of the fridge(never forget to do this before tour) and finish the kitchen whew…

somehow gotta pack 100+ Cds in my bags and keep em under 50lbs, plus tools, mics, strings, electronic gadgets, clothes and shoes

oh yeah print up Tour Book, contracts and personal data on my boys

crud this is going to take awhile, will someone have a beerverage for me

Nose to grindstone

JIM

Yay for findin’ the phone kanga. They like to hide in plain sight. Sneaky things they are.

Jim that sounds like a lot of work.

SWAMPY if I wasn’t a procrastinator I wouldn’t have this problem, but I am so just call me last minute…
JIM

Gonna out to eat, too lazy to cook. I’ll have one for ya, Jim.

Food is cooked & et (or put away); garage is done & looks good.
It’s Sammy time! (I currently have a new case of Sam Adams, not Miller; which is why it’s not Miller Time)

St. Louis, MO.

Although, I should mention that it hasn’t been quite as humid as it could be. So evenings have been lovely these past several days.
