It's freezonious in the MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of ONLY 81 (BRRR!) and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is to go through a filin’ cabinet and get rid of a bunch of old stuff. I’m sure there’s a lot of stuff in there that needs to be shredded and a lot of stuff that just needs to be trashed. Knowin’ me there are manuals from long gone appliances and the like all stuffded in there. Just needs a good goin’ through. We shall sup on sketties ‘n meatballs, sallit, and garlic bread. I am makin’ up a batch of skettie sauce as there’s no more in da freezer. Once it gets goin’ it’ll hang out in the slow cooker for a few hours.

CupCakes when we moved into the church proper, that Altar rail was installed there. Not all of the trees are down but we did lose five in the front part of the land and three on the backside. Through the years a few have been lost mostly due to age as these are ooooooooooolllllllllllllld trees. On the upside, none of the trees fell on the raised garden beds and the beds will be in more sunlight. Gotta think of the positives.

Bumba we will, as in the past, have pee-khan wood available for those who desire. We’ve always done a “suggested price” for the wood. Although insurance will not cover the loss of the trees, it may cover loss of income from pee-kahn harvest. A good pee-kahn harvest year can mean five or six thousand dollars. We shall see what the insurance PTB say.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Which area to the west of you?
My weather app shows temps in the 60s for the weekend?

**sari **- on channel 7, they were showing frost and snow west of the Blue Ridge. I thought it was for the weekend, but I just looked and it’s for tonight. Anyway, COLD has snuck in too soon. Unless it doesn’t…

Ah, fall in Wisconsin. That time of year when leaves change, football is king, and the temperature swings 30° over the course of a day…

They are saying Frederick County, but my app says low of 40 tonight. We should be colder than them.
Not that it really matters since I have plenty of food in the house and nowhere I have to go.

Yeah, where I live it’s very cold today, and tomorrow will be very warm. I wish I could stick to just one type of jacket throughout the season.

The Rockies!
Broke down & put the heater on last night; it was 64° in the house about 9:30 & outside was going down into the 30°s. There goes the end of cheap utility bill season. :frowning:
First day I needed to wear a jacket to irk, too.

BLURFAGE Still hot in these parts.

Irking as usual. Tired. Did not sleep enough. I guess those five days of good sleep shall have to be paid for. Stupid insomnia.

Happy Thursday!

**Butters **- I meant to ask - will you be needed more pumpkin wigs for next year or did you have a bunch left over? I can make some as I go along when I have scraps of yarn left.

Mooommmm Yes, I will need more. The ones with the hole in the middle and the ones with the little hats attached were most popular. The hole needs to be about 3 inches across. I will send you some yarn. I was gonna ask later. I only had may 15 left over.

Her dad claims she spent way too much time around the OW and me during her formative years.
Making plans for the next couple weekends with the OW. We may volunteer at Kennywood again, go visit some friends down towards WbygodVA, visit Castle Blood, go to a couple church dinners, clean the garage and get some shopping done. Like I’ve said before, we go to work to rest up.

Wow - only 15 left? Having almost a year will be great - I can do a few at a time instead of trying to get a lot done in a short time, and I can use up the bits in my stash as I go along instead of trying to store it all. I may even be at my leisure to be a bit more creative… we shall see.

I should be out the door, but is cool.
I am so afraid I will get lost, the google directions I have are kind of confusing, and I don’t have onstar directions anymore. Not that I trusted them anyway.

Howdy Y’all! I accomplished the task of cleanin’ out the file cabinet. It’s a chore I started a couple of months ago then stopped. Anywho, all done now. Among many other things, I had the manuals for all the appliances from when I first moved into da cave way back in 1996. I no longer have any of those. In other news, skettie sauce is all done as well. Some saved for sup and the rest shall go into containers and get frozed up.

I’m in the home stretch of my 4 10-hour days. It’s after lunch on day 4. I’m just so tired. I’ve been up late getting the house ready for Juliet Jr.'s birthday party this weekend, coming in early to work… ugh. And FCM, it has stayed clean from what I did last weekend. But we continue to live here, and we continue to make dirty dishes. And Romeo Jr. continues to throw cereal on the floor. But toys get put away each night, clothes go into hampers, etc.

But I’ve gotta get the house clean lest I be judged by the other moms. I don’t think they’re the super judgy type… but I just don’t know them well enough. And these moms will by the moms of my daughter’s classmates/friends for the next 8 years at least. And I’m not just going for clean, but decorated for the season, Pinterest-clean. Like, with seasonal flowers in a vase on the table and tiny pumpkins in random adorable places. So I’m working on that, and getting things set up (like turning 12 cardboard boxes into little cars, setting up the projector/screen and figuring out how the freak it works…).

Plus, I’m taking tomorrow to get stuff organized for the church fundraiser I’m doing next weekend. So I’m trying to get that stuff done. I have so much to do. Maybe I’ll go to sleep early on Saturday after the party and just start over on Sunday.

I guess I was lucky. My daughter’s best friend lived in a very messy house - I don’t think her mother saw dirt and clutter! And, honestly, I never worried much, beyond making sure the toilet was scrubbed and the kitchen didn’t harbor plague-inducing germs. I have a very casual view of housekeeping. The only thing in another person’s house that would get my attention would be food or pet messes - I’m going to notice if you slide dirty dishes under the piano bench or don’t pick up the horked up pile of whatever left by your cat or dog.

Tis always important to remember the various cooking sequences for microwaves one no longer owns. If nothing else, should be a good insomnia cure.

Iffn you post pics, we could judge you too. Just what you want, huh?

Sis’s famous line is, My mother’s floor is so clean you could eat off of it; you could eat off my floor, too…there’s so much food on it." :o

I have a sister that is sort of well off–all earned the hard way–honestly. Her home is a showplace. They don’t even enjoy their own home for fear of making a mess. I say Screw that. We live in our house. Who needs white carpet anyway?

Like Butters, I live in my house, albeit I’m leery of making a mess in the remodeled parts of it, since I paid so damn much money to get it that way. Give me a few months and I’ll be back to normal slovenliness…

68F ouside and about the same inside. Long range forecast says 60-70’s for the high and 40-50’s for the lows for the next 2 weeks, so Fall is officially underway in N. Alibama.

Hnag in there, Juliet; just make it to Sunday and tell the rest of the family that they’re on there own for a day.

Sari, google’s usually pretty good on directions; look at the map they make for any of the tough spots and write it down yourself to help you remember.

swampy, pecans are my favorite nut (well, spidey comes close, but I still vote for Pecans since I don’t know how he’d taste in a pie…). Hope the insurance company makes some accomodation (Ha!)

Did my Braunsweiger run this morning and am good until T-Giving. Worked on some soccer stuff too, so it’s been a quiet day. Soccer practice this evening in about 2 hours, just remembered while I was typing this to write up a schedule for next weeks’ tournament to hand out to the girls.

All y’all take care now.

lower lip wobbles

Busy week at skool, what with the half-term break (the course leader keeps trying to get us to call it ‘reading week’, hah, it’s playtime and we know it) next week, they’re trying to make sure we have stuff to do.

My flat’s been getting a bit messier lately. I’ve lived in a house that was a terrifying mess, so I’m mostly keeping on top of it, but what with the skool irk, having less time I’m slipping. Plus the clutter of textbooks that I’m gonna read, honest, and bits of paper with Important Things on them have started building up again. It wouldn’t get condemned by heath inspectors though, unlike my old place with the disgusting housemates, I even use coasters.
