It's Girl Scout Cookie time!

I just bought two boxes of Thin Mints and one box of Samoas. Please support your local scouts by doing something similar.

Oh yeah, what’s YOUR favorite Girl Scout Cookie variety?

I bought a couple of boxes from the daughters of two school volunteers. Samoas and Tag-a-longs. Yum!

Samoas are my favorite! I buy my box, and then ration them to last as long as possible. My children prefer the Tag-a-longs.

Thin Mints and Samoas are amazing. Bought a couple boxes from a labmate’s daughter.
I think I remember seeing that they changed the name of the Samoas. No idea why, but I’m pretty sure they were listed under “Caramel deLites.” Sacrilege.
Although on further inspection, the GSA FAQs list it under both names.

OH!
Apparently it depends on which of the two manufacturers make them.
Little Brownie Bakers makes “Samoas”, while ABC/Interbake makes “Caramel deLites.”
Anyone know if there’s any real difference?

Tagalongs.

A case.

NOW.

Samoas. There are no other Girl Scout cookies.

Obligatory Linkie poo to BBQ Rantage about F*cking Girl Scout Cookies.

I’ve already bought from two different dealers…errrr…girls.

I’m greatly distressed, as Girl Scouts don’t appear to exist in my area of Wisconsin. When I lived in the Las Vegas area, I’d been absolutely in love with the Thin Mints. Samoas, too, were an ecstatic experience. I don’t know what I’m going to do without my Girl Scout Cookie fix.

I have over 400 boxes of them. Worship at the altar of my Cookietude

OK, time to fess up. I’m the troop Cookie Mom and this is the stash for 3 girls who haven’t picked up their orders, plus extras for booth sales. Still I like to go into the dining room and bathe in the ambiance.

Typo Knig weeps every time we send out a case of Samoas. I mourn every time Thin Mints or Tagalongs depart my home. We both cheer whenever the new Sugar Free Little Brownie Bites head out the door. Them’s NASS-TEE!!!

Samoas, and I was very sad last year to find out that the lemon creme were no more. They replaced it with some sort of shortbread thing, IIRC and it was NOT as good.

We want lemon cremes, we want lemon cremes!!!

I bought tons!!! We have 2 girl scouts down our street we buy from, some friends of ours have 2 daughters who are twins so we bought the same from each and my nail tech’s daughter was selling em’ too. Bought tons of Samoas, some Do-si-dos, some cafe ones, little brownie bites and tons of Thin Mints! You must try putting thin mints in the freezer if you don’t already do that! Yummy! I am a former Brownie turned Girl Scout and I look forward each year when it is cookie time!

runs upstairs to the freezer and grabs the thin mints!
Then looks around for cookie thieves and dives into them!

Doth thou have a good friend in another state that could ship you cookies? I could be that friend! No one who loves GS cookies should be without them.

My sister was selling cookies this year, so I was conned (well, not really) into buying six boxes.

Two thin mints, one shortbread, one peanut butter sandwich, and one cartwheel later I am desperately trying to hide the remaining cookies from my boyfriend and my roommate, who are intent on eating MY stash!

Although thats not a bad thing, I am easily conned by brownies selling cookies while Im going in/out of the grocery store…

I’ve got to help my sister move so will be offline for the rest of the day, but let me see if anybody else I know wants some cookie goodness and I’ll drop you an email when I get back.

Thanks!

My niece is a girl scout, this is her first year. I got call from my brother informing me, “You’re buying six boxes of cookies. What kind to you want?”

Samoas and Tagalongs, of course. Being related to kids who sell this type of stuff means I just get signed up and then told what I owe. I don’t mind.

Nephew: Aunt Jodi, here’s the wrapping paper you bought!
Me: I did?
Nephew: Yes! And you owe me 20 dollars!

Samoans? Tagalog? Whaa…?

Who came up with these names?

Jodi, you’re the best! I thought my family was the only one that did that sort of thing. Grandmas, Aunts, and Great-Grandmas get the phone call to notify them that fundraisers have begun. Their reponse is always, “Just pick out something for me, and let me know how much I owe.”

Samoas and Thin Mints. Mmmmmm. Some will soon be forthcoming from the little tots that wander into my husband’s place of work.

And, if you find that you cannot lay hands on this legal crack-like substance in your locality, I find that they are now available on eBay. Enjoy.

5 boxes of Thin Mints and whatever they’re calling the pnutbutter sand ones, thank-yous, some lemon things.
It’s all about the Thin Mints, baby.
Then I will be scooping up the boxes from those who will burn in hell for ordering from Girl Scouts and NOT picking them up, those lowliest of scum. And it doesn’t seem like I bought more than 10 boxes! It’s win/win!

I have 4 different sources of Girl Scout cookies this year.

  1. My sister, who works at a Girl Scout camp.
  2. A random neighborhood Girl Scout, who was, of all things, actually selling door-to-door.
  3. A troop of Girl Scouts who sells cookies in the lobby of my office building.
  4. Another troop of Girl Scouts who sell at my local YWCA, where I work out. (and yes, I’m fully aware of the irony in buying GS cookies just after a cardio workout).

I like most of 'em, but my favorites by far are Thin Mints.

Ahhh… Thin Mints… The crack-cocaine of the cookie world.

I make the sacrifice to support this worthwhile organization every year. Unfortunately, my daughters’ friends have all apparently decided they’re far too worldly and mature for Girl Scouts, so I’m reduced to lurking outside supermarkets, hoping to catch a glimpse of a cookie table, desperate for my fi…um, my opportunity to donate to this worthy, worthy cause.

As for types, well, we get Thin Mints, Trefoils (sometimes plain is what you want), Samoas (but never enough), and whatever else catches my fancy on any given day.
