It's hurricane season in the MMP

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s cloudy, cool, and drizzly.

Actually it would be more “You put on a glove, and root around till you feel something weird.”

{{{{shoe}}}}

Whoops, sorry about the double post.

Yay, Pretzel finally shed overnight. I think she got tired of my peering at her, going “Have you changed outfits yet?” Who wants to be stared at, ammirite.

Finished my tea, upgraded to some cheese & crackers, and have been awake & internettin’ for some three straight hours. Even folded a couple clean shirts. Only now considering going back to sleep for a bit. Must be on the mend!

Morning all. Rained overnight and possibly this afternoon, so lawn has been sufficiently watered without my assistance. Going to 88F today, into the 90’s for tomorrow, so the AC will become a full-time thing here.

Purp, Glad for Pretzel, and don’t worry about being lazy…I’m that every day and it just takes practice and dedication…:wink:

FCM, y’all don’t mind if I sit in awe of your morning burst of work?

Nettie, our sit-down restaurants are open, but they still haven’t given the go for the fast food places. Still waiting for the new Culver’s and Freddy’s Steakburgers to have their grand openings…

nellie, just make sure in calling the scammer, your sister doesn’t get taken again. I think I’d say ‘immoral’ instead of “evil”, but not much difference is there?

Sunny, No, it’s a Sony, and I’m going to try some things today or else call the Best Buy for help.

OK, my weekly menu for first meal (I only eat two meals a day) is “TBD”, so I need to forage for whatever looks good now. Everybody take care.

Roxy and I had some swingset and sandbox time. She’s had lunch and in about 20 minutes, it’ll be nap time. Laundry is done and **FCD **is still sleeping. The PT was going to come over around noon, but I’m not waking him, so if she comes, oh well…

Since my sweetie and I are on our own for supper, I may get takeout for supper. Or I’ll make shrimp salad. We shall see.

Has anyone else had a really hard time managing their own schedule during this pandemic? Yes, this is absolutely ridiculous; however, I’m learning that when I don’t have to manage my time, I simply…don’t. And it’s causing me to go to sleep later and later and making waking up for work more and more sucktastic.

Anyway, so glad it’s Friday, whatever Friday means anymore. What I miss about Fridays is that Fridays generally meant the start of “weekend food.” You know, come home and kick back with some friends and family, have some nachos, a few glasses of wine, etc. Now I fall asleep at the mention of wine and at the mere thought of eating something with salt and cheese gain 5 pounds and break wind (TMI, but yes, apparently it’s common to develop lactose intolerance in middle age). Getting older and having to be more responsible for my body sucks.

Schedule hasn’t been a big issue here, what with the free-range toddler needing some structure, and more recently, spousal unit’s med schedule. But, yeah, lots of other things are random. There’s no fixed “laundry day” or “grocery day” and weekends are pretty meaningless. But things are getting done, so there’s that.

Where are my pills? My pharmacy was pillaged (heh!) last Saturday, resulting in them shutting down for a few days to assess what was stolen, put things back where they, belong, etc. A refill order that I foolishly did not pick up when it was ready on Saturday afternoon toggled over to “out of stock” and others were “on hold - call your pharmacist.” So I call. Apparently my heart pills were stolen. No idea what a 20 year old would do with them.

Finally able to post, couldn’t even go to page 3 from 2. Bad Mumper i am.

Life goes on. Went to irk today just long enough to do payroll. Got home and had to go back to the CVS for hubs and the grocery store for the cat. It would have been nice to do all that in one trip.

Hubby’s friend was down since the road is finally open and they went out to eat a few times and of course now hubs is all swollen again. I am almost ready to give up. If he doesn’t care…tomorrow his son and family arrive for their vacation and he promised me he will not go out to eat…Hahahaha. Yea right. I will not be joining them because of many reasons; Covid and I will not be party to hubs eating stuff he should not. It is exhausting taking care of a sick person. Plus he considers me a nag.

Hugs to Nellie on loss of BIL. Hugs to Shoe on being ill and hugs in general to everyone else that needs or wants one. Nut congratulations. And Happy Late Birthday Bumba.

We have been getting the extreme outer bands of Christobal so much rain here. MetalMouse and Swampy Y’all gonna get it too. MoonUnit is down on the Yucatán where it has rained unbelievable amounts. I think we are up to 17 inches in the last 30 days. It may not be that much but it’s whole bunch.

Oh, almost forgot the really exciting news. We got new terlets yesterday. Nice tall ones.

Happy weekend everyone.

**FCD **had a good, long sleep, and he’s feeling more human, so huzzah! He also doesn’t want any pain meds at the moment. I think we’re about to go over the hump. I hope.

Threats of much rain later today - I sure hope so. We need it!

Other than that, much laziness ensues. That’s what happens when you do all your chores early.

Well, crap.

The Son-in-law drove himself to his clinic this AM because he has a sore throat.

Mr VOW and I have made tentative plans to go to AZ for a couple of weeks. I told him first, all these curfews have to be lifted.

Now, I told Mr VOW that we must wait to see what The Son-in-law’s status is. If he tests positive for COVID, we’re probably stuck here for two weeks, self-quarantine.

Aw, I’m glad FCD is on the mend. Sitting around in pain sucks.

Everyone’s good wishes helped me feel better. I rallied enough to pay my rent (yeah, I know the date - needed my paycheck to clear) and clipped Nikki’s front claws, which were starting to snag everygoddamnthing.

I purposely left them until now because after we first moved in, a couple of local cats stopped doing feline social distancing and were coming for closer investigations. No contact, everyone has just growled at each other from a couple feet away (and I walked outside being Very Big And Loudly In Charge in time to prevent any fights) but just in case, as an ultra last resort I’d rather she be armed for battle than unarmed.
But, she’s snagging my [del]blankie[/del]quilt now, so it was time for a quick manicure.

Felt hungry enough for one of those little frozen stuffed chicken boobie thingies, and a yogurt (with mini M&Ms cuz that’s how I roll) and some more cheese. Didn’t even have a nap yet, and I just *[ might not! ***

I also found a $270 portable dishwasher and may or may not have measured a couple of cabinets to see where it might fit … it is SO TEMPTING to say “screw it, it’s my birfday” and order me one.

COVID scare false alarm. The Son-in-law has persistent swollen neck glands from an impacted and nasty wisdom tooth. Tooth and its next door neighbor were removed, antibiotics taken (yes, all) and yet the glands are still swollen. No fever, so no COVID.

Thank heavens!

purple, just order the dishwasher. You won’t be sorry!

Just got notified we’re back in the office starting Next week. I’ll be making the trek Tuesdays and Thursdays. Back to shaving, and wearing pants!

Howdy Y’all! I managed errands this mornin’ and we had some quality cee-mint pond time, after which we ordered The General’s sup and OYKW went to swipe it. Then we et. Now we chill. OK, we’ve chilled all day. This is evenin’ chill.

gotti that sucks! Hope you get your heart pills soonest.

Yay for FCD bein’ in less pain.

shoe the dishwasher might be worth it to go ahead and get.

Butters we have a **TROPICAL WEATHER STATEMENT[//b], whatever that means, right now. Looks like Sunday, Moanday, and Tuesday will be the days Cristobal comes to visit.

Vow glad son-in-law does not have Covid. Hope he heals up soonest from the wisdom tooth/teeth removal.

Flyboy now do you understand why it’s such a burden for me to put on acceptable bein’ about the public attire?

We had dinner delivered from the Chaptico Deli. I got the crabcake dinner - not impressed with their crabcake. **FCD **got the 3-piece chicken dinner and barely ate 1 piece, so he’s got some snackage for later.

He hasn’t had any pain meds since 4AM and he’s trying to hold off till bedtime. I’m guessing the pain is more manageable. Now, here’s hoping he sleeps thru the night. Meanwhile, I’m fighting to stay awake. I hope* I* can sleep thru the night!

Whoa, purple, I just looked at that d/w and it’s a countertop jobbie! Do you honestly have counter space to spare, or will you be chopping onions at your kitchen table?

If you do some heavy-duty searching, you could probably find a standard portable d/w that would actually provide more counter space, and then you could “drive” it to an out-of-the-way corner when you aren’t using it. Check out Sears Outlet. I’ve bought scads of appliances from Sears Outlet over the years, and I’ve never been unhappy! They have floor models, and even appliances with a little dent or smudge that can save you big bucks!

I’ve bought refrigerators for both of my kids, and we had to use a magnifying class to find the scratch.

If anyone is interested in “meeting” Kopek, here’s your chance.

At the Cook Forest F&I event last June, “Erik the Travel Guy” was there with the PA Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau and filmed segments of a show called “Beyond Your Back Yard” in and around Cook Forest, including the F&I War event. We were asked to provide a volunteer who could work with the crew, speak about the history, etc. Most of our friends don’t really like to do that kind of thing on camera, and Kopek was always willing, so he volunteered (and, honestly, everyone else volunteered him too). I had completely forgotten about this until we got the link a couple of days ago.

The video is about 25 minutes long, the Cook F&I portion can be seen from 3:30-8:05 minutes in. There’s a very brief shot of me in the background (I’m wearing a green striped jacket and a white bonnet, sitting in a chair and looking at something to my left). This is currently airing on PBS stations around the country and we’ve been encouraged to share this link. Note that it will not play on Internet Explorer.

Probably just grabbing prescription bags in hopes of the funsies or sellables, didn’t know or care what was in the bags.

The callers were remarkably rage-inducing today, and I’m feeling unwell on top of it (as is DH). Papa Murphy is the chef this evening. I got the crustless.

Steaks and corn on the cob on the barbie tonight.

Goo jumped up on the counter and snagged the fat I didn’t eat.

On my 3rd Margarita.
