The travel bug bites hard today – you may fall in love with a picture, or you may just feel restless and want to get out of town ASAP. Your energy is so positive that it should be easy to pull off.
So yestiddy I was musin’ on the idea of takin’ a ride to see if those tobacco fields I used to see are still there. It must be fate!
ETA: First on Five!
If you’re ever around and its especially dull, I’m across the river and say 2 miles from the Strip. Shoot me a PM and I’ll send the landline number. At one of the Living History events down the Point, this “French Marine” was trying his best attempt at an accent. When he ended his program and asked if there were any questions the only one he got was "What part of France are you from? Blawnox?
Those of you who are my FB friends can see a topless photo of me that I just posted. And if ya wanna be my FB friend, all you have to do is send a PM - I’m friendly like that.
Back from shopping and I must say, I don’t like the Food Lion in Charlotte Hall. I went there specifically for several items that are on sale this week - as in the sale started yesterday, and already they were out. But I did get some corn, 'maters, and 'lopes at the Amish market on the way home, so yay for that. And I’ll just run into the Leonardtown FL tomorrow on the way home from the gym and see if they can help me out.
Overcast and muggy out, even if it’s under 80°. Groceries are all unloaded, a dozen eggs are boiling prior to becoming egg salad, and a sirloin tip roast is marinatin’ for tomorrow’s supper. I’s efficient!
More efficiency - I just trimmed my fingernails. And I put my cell phone on the charger - it was dead dead dead dead - deader than a parrot! That’s what happens when it sits in my purse untouched for several weeks.
the humididity went away. But MAN! was there a noisy storm last night! Constant, heavy rain on a brick patio is a very disconcerting sound when you’re trying to convince Nature to stop calling now that you’re all comfortable.
Thanks swampy. And dogbutler. I actually have a Hyperbole and a Half book.
I tried to print crap out at the print shop but my file didn’t work! :’( (Okay, I’m not acutally crying over it.) I’ll have to try to think of another way of printing it out.
N.O.L. has been et. Leftover sketties 'n meatballs and cantaloupe (can’t find my ladder). ‘Twas good. [del]Minion[/del] Assistant has an appointment comin’ in the orifice at one o’clock to sign up for services. I get to sit there because I’m supposed to “monitor and evaluate” how well she does an intake. Envy me.
Had fun bowling last night, but I still suck. I had a half a notion to bowl on the kids’ lane with the bumpers. But what do you expect from a sport that you can do while drinking beer?
I used to be able to bowl not horribly. Therefore, it is proven that bowling isn’t a sport because I suck at sports! I can’t remember the last time I bowled - decades ago, I think.
Dishwasher has been emptied and refilled. Kitchen trash has gone out. A dozen eggs have been saladed, and 2 sammiches of said salad have been ingested. Dining room table is cleared and ready for a table cloth when it’s time to eat. Guest bedroom has been readied for guests, including fresh sheets. Stuff has been stashed in the green room - we’d be in trouble if we didn’t have the green room.
I still need to run the vacuum cleaner. And I need to figure out tonight’s supper - I’m thinking leftovers. We’ve got the poke from yesterday and the turkey from the day before. And veggies. I think we’re good to go.
Bowling is just an excuse to go drinking, and drinking is an excuse for bad bowling.
Hello all. I’m trying to limit my non-irk Interwebbing, because of the backlog of idiocy I have to deal with this week. But sometimes you just gotta say, “I’ve got to get away from here”, even if it’s only an online escape.
Vacuuming is done, and I even spot cleaned a few, um, spots with the steam cleaner. Tomorrow, **FCD **will do the bathrooms, and we’ll be ready for his folks.
He’s finished painting his bike, except for the clearcoat. Assuming he gets that done tomorrow and allowing 24 hours to dry, he should be able to reassemble the bike on Sunday. He’s gotten faster as he’s gotten better. I’ll post pics of the components and the assembled bike after it’s all done.
Assistant done good! She even gave me a compliment. Well, I think it’s a compliment. She said she didn’t feel nervous at all with me bein’ right there to observe how she was doin’. Even said she remembered some of the tips and pointers I had given her in trainin’ and from watchin’ me do an intake on someone.
Hell day / breather time.
I just ate lunch. First call was at 2:30 (am); then a break for 3 whole hours until 6:30am conf call, & pretty much non-stop til now. I is fried!
But there’s OT!
Power failure at irk again. Matter of fact right after my last post. I looked at assistant and said we’re baggin’ it for the day, so we did. Howdy from da cave.
Grillin’ up some chikin strips to go on sallit for dindin tonight. Simple and easy just the way I like my men.
OK, here’s the plan:
We go to Swampy’s irkplace, yank the main breaker.
When he gets into the twuck and drives away, we put the breaker back in.
When he comes back, we wait ten minutes, and yank the main breaker…
Who is in?
