It's Moanday Somewhere - A MMP

{{{lieu}}}

Sucky week for sure.

Wuss.

Are you sure they are not Lithuanian?
Take a whiff of their perfume.

I feel like I’ve forgotten something. Did I ‘blurf’ at y’all yet today?

If not, BLURF!!

If so, disregard this post.

Was that the case where they found his car with a puppy inside? I’ve heard of that case. According to local lore, he’s dead and buried and his girlfriend was most likely involved. And yeah, that was about 9 years before I moved here.

I’m still tired from my Big Night Out last night, so I’m going to fritter away my evening until bedtime.

High light of the day

THE GROCERIES ARE HERE!

Not that we really needed any but I ordered some anyway.

There will be pastries, apple pastries.

FCM - haz fun with the ILs!

Spidey - hmmm - Slurpeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! Almost as good as beer. OK. Not. Even if free. And it’s Firday!!!

Nut - in my last old car situation I did a spreadsheet and figured out my current car versus the replacement car was costing versus would cost. Turned out the car I owned “free and clear” was costing me way more than buying a newer one, by the time I entered the repairs and those quarts of oil I was dumping into it. I did not regret making a change. Course the “new” one was not nearly as elegant, but was it was very reliable (I traded an RX7 for a Honda Odyssey).

Ack - I’z late to a meeting! Not quit 'o’clock here either. I envy you Swampy! And the rest of you right-coasters!!

Happy Firday everyone

Spaz, yeah, that’s the one where the lab mix puppy was found in the car. Such a strange and terrible case. I just don’t understand a motive for murder, but suspect that is what happened and yes, I thought the girl Misty was involved as well. It comes across like a murder to see if they could get away with it. :frowning:

On a happier note, I hope to have taco salad for dinner tonight!

We have dined and had German chawklit cake. All is good. I hear thunderatin’ off in the distance. Oh and we got in the cee-mint pond for a bit. As I said, all is good.

So it goes on Firday evenin’.

Some random griping about Microsoft.

I found a file online I wanted to read so I downloaded it. It’s in doc format, which should be the easiest format in the world to read. But for some insane reason, Microsoft decided to not carry any program that reads doc format - which is a Microsoft format - in Windows 8. Not really wanting to download Office to read a simple document, I opened it up and stripped out all the doc formatting stuff and saved it as a txt file.

It’s only two pages of text. No illustrations. No special features. As a txt file, it’s 8.5 KB in size. As a doc file, the exact same document was 2456 KB in size.

Inlaws arrived safely despite their GPS taking them a bit out of the way. We had a yummerrific supper of rotissed beef, Amish corn, steamed broccoli, and cantaloupe. We just finished ice cream. FIL is in the shower, MIL is in her robe. I’m about to knit. Life is good!

MWAH!

woo hoo!

How did you open a .DOC in the past without Word?
It is Windows 8, which does not play DVDs.

That’s easy, they are pretending that the doctor will be ready to se you at the time of the appointment.

I’ll be right over!

Like doctors ever see patients on time.
Actually I used to go to a dentist who did see patients on time. One time I was 5 minutes late and they had already called my work to see if I was there. I got chewed out when I walked in the door.
Sah-dog is driving me crazy tonight. Part of the reason I ordered groceries for today is because he was getting low on treats. Whenever I order treats for him I get whatever soft treats are on sale, so he got something new today. Now he stands and stares at me, and stares at me, and stares some more until I give him another piece. I HATE that stare. If I ignore it long enough he will start to snore at me. Once the novelty of the new treats wears off he’ll chill out.
He has got me so trained.
I spend more on treats than I spend on food, but what can I say? He’s old, half blind, half deaf. It’s what makes him happy.

When I used to buy them at the store I’d have to give him one of each kind of treat I bought. I don’t know how he knew but he’d stare at me until he got to try one of each.

Apple, cherry, almond or cheese?

I like the almond ones but when I eat them my lips and tongue go numb.
I probably shouldn’t eat them.

I dunno. I just clicked on it and doc files opened. I’m assuming my previous computers had a program that ran doc files. Which is something I’d expect - I don’t think expecting MS to include a word processing program for their own format in Windows is an outrageous expectation.

As Mason said to Dixon, that’s where I draw the line. I did download a dvd player.

Windows 8: From the company that brought you Bob

TGIF. Moomm so happy the elders arrived safely. Nuts what is wrong with the car? I kept my last car until it had over 140k miles but it was starting to cost too much so I got a new car. Payments less than $300 and gets twice the gas mileage.

But, if Rasta dude can get you going maybe you can find better/ more employment.

I had 4 little growths burned off my leg The other day and the largest one hurts, is angry red, swollen and hot to the touch. Methinks it is infected. So since hubby had antibiotics on hand I started to take them. He got fish poison from his trip last weekend. I know, I know but tis Firday thus no Dr.

Diet continues but slower loss. I am a food addict. I love to eat and a lot of my snacking is boredom I think.

I took my new car today for its 10,000 mile PM. It has synthetic oil so the next oil change is in 10,000 miles. I thought synthetic was only good for 5K but they are the professionals. My maintenance also included tire rotation and topping off all other fluids. And a look see. I love my car. I put 10628 miles in 8 months. All back and forth to irk. I jetted early today just because I was at a stopping point. TGIF.

No plans for me the weekend but I want to do something besides my usual which is sloth.

Moomm forgot to say your BIL probably doesn’t live with the wife cause she won’t wait on him hand and foot.

It is so so hot here. We have been getting a little rain here and there though. We are growing okra on the upstairs deck and so far have harvested 2 pods but there will be mucho okra eventually. I lurves me some boiled okra and okra and tomatoes cooked together.

Rosie’s sig. Y’all be safe out there.

Have you tried OpenOffice? Freeware analog to Office, works quite nicely, IMO.

Either I talked too much today (since I’m a cashier, the job does involve conversing with customers), that mac and cheese was a mistake, or I’m just still in the achy stage of having difficult extractions done. Right-side jaw hinge hurts.
