It's Moanday Somewhere - A MMP

Swampy, you could send me one for your birthday.

2nd week in July; 2nd heat wave of summer.

Howdy from irk! So far it has not been too irksome. My [del]minions[/del] assistants and I are gettin’ ready for the marathon writin’ of IEPs due in July. Then we get the joy of updatin’ what TPTB call “Minimum Waiver Factors” meanin’ the reason(s) why each and every participant should or should not remain a participant. This happens every August. New [del]minion[/del] assistant will have the joy of learnin’ all about that as we start. I explained to her that this is sump’n done once a year and then the next year it’s like you’ve never seen it before because it’s such a pita it gets erased from memory.

Is no one but me concerned that lieu used a rub made of dalmations?

{{{Spaz}}} just cause it looks like you need a hug.

BBBobbio don’t overdo it ok?

{{{mage}}} just cause it looks like you could use a hug as well.

rene hope the feets are feelin’ better soonest.

MOOOOOOM hangs her dainties out for all the neighbors to see and I get accused of TMI? :dubious: :stuck_out_tongue:

Rosie have a safe trip!

Poor Gordie!

Afternoon!

Was going to spend the day doing gardenin’ stuff, but forgot to check the forecast- it was for a few light showers later, but now it’s just straight up wet. Accordingly, I’ve been staying in and having a jam session. Gooseberry, to be precise; it’s a really nice red shade, and the set’s not bad for once either- normally it’s either liquid or you’ll break you teeth on it. I’ve also bottled the raspberry-redcurrant vinegar. I r a domestic goddess.

I did stick some washing on too, but that’s not quite so goddessy, as it’s too wet to put it on the line so it’ll be in the way in the house instead.

Not sure what to do with the rest of the gooseberries- do you get 'em in the Yoo Ess, or are they an English thing?

Maybe I’ll try chutney, but it’ll have to wait 'cos I’m out of jars.

I think Gooseberries is English… In Texas we have peaches, pears , strawberries, dew/blackberries ,and pecans and hickory nuts… Oh, forgot Prickley Pear ,makes a beautiful tasty jelly. There are other goodies around, but that’s what I remember.

I have a desk job and a nice, comfy chair. I don’t think I could handle any more of VWife’s bitching 24/7…

rosie, be safe on your drive home.

spaz, if the experience isn’t something specific that you don’t have and you do have similar experience, go for it. Sometimes the flexibility to learn and having a broader background are taken into consideration.

Nuts, our gooseberries here in the US tend to be the green variety and make a lovely, tart pie.

Now to continue the regularly scheduled Moanday boredom here at irk.

I’ve never seen or had a gooseberry as far as I know. I’ll probably google it and learn something. But speaking of jams, I tasted my peach jam this morning - mega-yum!!

**swampy **- no dainties on the line - just shorts, t-shirts, and a set of sheets. And they’ll be coming down in an hour or so.

I’ve watered the gardens in the back yard and I’ve got the sprinkler going in the front yard right now. Once the timer goes off, I’ll move it and get another swath. Almost makes me wish we had a sprinkler system, but not enough to install one. We did that in FL - what a pain it was!!!

I thought I was awake and then I read this -

  • as 4 Amish customers and was completely shocked at the carnage that followed.

Hope I wake up soon. Got things to do. The garage got organized over the weekend, so we have a functional garage again. Now we just have to deal with the stack of stuff to go to the thrift store and the smaller stack that needs to find a home in the house. But it will happen.

Maybe I need a less comfortable chair.

**Yeller **- I don’t cut up the Amish into any sort of salad. They’re kinda tough and bland…

I just got a text from OYKW. It read, and I quote:

Mennonite lady cakes!!

There are two things about this text. First, he texted. It has to be big for that to happen bein’ as technology wise he is a Luddite at heart. Second, the Mennonite ladies are bakin’ cakes! YUM!!! Ok, the Mennonite ladies bake cakes a lot, I’m sure, but three or four times a year, they take orders for cakes. This means German chawklit cake! I lurves me some German chawklit cake. Also caramel cake.

A sugar rush is a comin’!

Feel better, rene

**doggio **- just a logical conclusion based on observation. Really. Would I lie?? :dubious:

What else are you going to do with the rest of the dog once the coat is removed?

I hope you’re going to get enough for the whole class. :dubious:

Hey Giggity was this your handywork while you were in the Outer Banks last week?

Spaz enough for the whole class would be at least one cake per person cause Mennonite lady cakes are just that good. I have been informed that a German chawklit, a caramel, and a pound cake have been ordered. That should hold us for a couple days.

In other news, a participant has informed me of an ongoin’ problem she has been havin’ with payroll for over a year. Had I known of this, I could have taken care of it when it first started happenin’. :dubious: It is now taken care of and took me all of five minutes to do so. Jeez!

So, you are going to mail everyone’s cake?
:dubious:

I’ll send it through the cupholder thingy on your 'puter.

**swampy **- are you sure the cakes are made from real Mennonite ladies and not artificial pretenders??
