You know, you live with it everyday but some days it just reaches out and slaps you in the face.
I have started two online classes in order to get a particular certification and they’re kicking my rear. There are like three homework assignments due per week every week! I mean, I thought I was finished with homework.
Speaking of, tomorrow’s the first day that I’m allowed to go into my new classroom so that I can figure out how I want to set things up! I’m just going to scope things out and then figure out how I want to proceed next week when I’m not under the gun with a show.
Spiderman, that explains it. We’re up in the Laurel Highlands, where it was still snowing in May. Our corn may be ready by September.
I haven’t been out to Amish country in ages. It might be time to take a drive out that way. Me, I’m waiting with bated breath for the county fair, city carnival and church bazaar season to kick in. (Cuz if there’s anything I need, it’s more food fried up in lard.)
Herbs - good to hear that you’re doing better, I hope things continue to improve
'im indoors has been sent off to the wilds of Welsh Wales for a six-month job so we won’t be seeing him again until Friday. He needs to sort out accommodation and work out his travel schedule but he is used to working away from home so he’ll soon get all that worked out. The upside is that I get the house to myself during the week which means those remotes are mine, all mine maniacal laugh
We got rain last night!! When I let Higgs out, it was coming down in a nice, steady shower. The driveway puddle is nice and big, which tells me the rain went on for a while - so yay! I was going to drag the sprinkler way out to the front garden, but I’m thinking maybe now I don’t need to.
FIL has an appointment at 8:30 and after checking what they need to check, he’s hoping to set up his final appointment soon enough that they can come stay with us for a little while rather than going to FL, then back to NC. We shall see. If they come here, they’ll be in time for supper, which will be pulled poke that’s been marinating in teriyaki all night. We’ll see how that works out.
If they do come, we’ll have about 5-ish hours of warning to get this place company-ready. I’ll need to get fresh linens for the guest bed and we’ll probably wave a dust rag over most of the furniture. And the guest bathroom should be cleaned also. Anyway, no sense making the effort till we have to.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and already caffienated. Purtified for irk as well. Go Me! OYKW and I are goin’ to Pearly’s for brekkie. YUM! 'Tis 75 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 96 for the day. The weather PTB say rain tomorrow. We shall see.
BooFae have you run through the house nekkid yet?
Yinz I love fried food on a stick fairs!
mage we have pointy stick weildin’ Sri Lankan ninja paratrooper spiders we can mail to the doctor. Just let us know how many and where to send 'em.
Butters hope the irk situation is better soonest. Sometimes ya just gotta have a beer or six.
Everybody else, yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, wedgies, noogies, how you doin’s all around as needed.
Ok, I hear the sounds of OYKW gettin’ dressed. This means we shall be leavin’ shortly. Rumbly tummy is hongry, so YAY!
Today would have been mine and Dave’s anniversary. Hard to believe that he’s been gone more years now than I had known him. Coming up in a couple weeks will be the anniversary of his death as well. In a way I think it makes it easier that his birthday and both of these anniversaries all happen within about a month.
Ok, I’m off to take the pups outside and then eventually this morning I’ll be going to school. Yay again!
If it’s Wednesday, it means that the day is a total cluster. Doctor’s appointment at 8, job interview at 9:30, and freelancing the rest of the day.
Tomorrow isn’t much better: Job thing at 8, interview at 10:30. At least the 8 am has promise; it’s for a temp thing, so I may be irking soon. On the one hand, I like freelancing. On the other, I also like being able to pay bills on time and eating and such.
It’s a cool 71 degrees with a projected high of 88. We had a nasty storm last night, everything is still wet this morning.
Not much on the agenda for today except irk and some phone calls. I have to call to set up payment arrangements for my doctor bills, even after insurance paid part of the I still owe $1000+. It would be nice to know what time my surgery is scheduled, kind of helps with the planning. I need to call AT&T about my phone, again.
I have to decide it I want to put in an offer on the house I saw yesterday. I like the house a lot but there is a problem with a cistern. FHA doesn’t insure houses with cisterns, but you can get a waiver and it looks like this house will meet all the conditions of the waiver. However, it is an extra step and there is a chance it won’t be approved.
The neighbors came over while we were there and told us all about the cistern and how it works, about the previous owners, how nice the neighborhood is, what is wrong with the house and what is right with it. Got to love those neighbors.
