It's Monday Morning So This Must Be The MMP

Yeah, FCM, I saw that coming from lightyears away, especially having met him – to be honest, I thought marrying him was a bad idea from the start. Not a bad person, but not marriage material! Still, it can’t be easy for all involved. Hopefully the legal side will go as smoothly as his packing and leaving has thus far.

I hope he wears them when we meet up in August.

Worked, went to the Booster Club meeting, now having a beerverage.

Hi Herbs!

Sorry about the daughter. FCM.

Glad to hear FCD is happier now.

And as for my TMI, it wasn’t ME that had brushed my teeth, ifyannowhatImean. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have to return suitcase to Dad tonight, then tomorrow we are entertaining guests. Boyfriend’s best friend has a new girlfriend, which he said he’d like to introduce to us. She’s a Korean college student. What the hell am I going to talk to her about? Anyway, we’ll just have a BBQ and I’ll make some pasta salad with feta and spinach, maybe. I thought about making dessert but we’ll probably end up going to a bar afterwards anyway . . .

Hopefully we’ll have nice weather on Sunday so we can get out of the city and relax.

I <3 EU

That 24h translation exam I had yesterday was pretty horrid. For some reason, the other translation teacher has always given us texts which were challenging, sometimes with “special styles” (company press releases, for example), but generally well-written. The one for yesterday’s exam tends to choose texts which have been written by a monkey living on a steady diet of crack-peppered sinsemilla. Yesterday’s monster was on agribusiness macroeconomics, too, so there were lots of figures (aka “a trap for people to forget about changing the decimal and thousand markers”), lots of acronyms and lots of specialized jargon.

I basically used the EU’s webpages as a dictionary, by finding documents which contained the Spanish jargon or acronyms and then looking at their English-language version. This is called “using parallel texts” and for stuff like this it’s absolutely great.
Haze, maybe it’s just a matter of changing toothpaste

I’m not taking any more risks with toothpaste, thankyouverymuch.

I was thinking of getting a tailored jacked for Irish Boyfriend’s birthday. Do you think if I stole a nice shirt of his, plus the dress pants I want it to match, and took it to a tailor, that would be enough for them to make one? I can’t think of any other way to keep it a surprise. :dubious:

I think I’ll try making these today tonight to use as dessert tomorrow: http://www.domesticgoddess.ca/recipes.php?recipe=10177

Yum.

I know you are relieved, mooooom, so I won’t say sorry. Sounds like your daughter is going to be just fine.

Condolences to you and him-indoors, boofae.

Glad things are better, soapy.

I am really glad its Firday! The day before yesterday the elevator door in my office building gave me a big bruise on my right arm. Very heavy door that did NOT retract as it should have. Then yestidy I took a spill in the bridge between the parking garage and the building. The bridge has a tile floor and I must have caught my heel. Sore this morning. :frowning:

Time to go purtify.

Tupug

Mmm, those sound yummy, Haze.

So…which law is it that says that the smoke alarm’s low-battery chirp will always start in the middle of the night?

Am up and ready to do more laundry and then get out into the garden to do some planting. Woo hoo!

GT

At a conference on assessment in higher Ed. I have my evil iPhone. I’ll need something to read!

You nailed it right here! Add that to the drama queen facet, and it becomes clear that it’s pretty much been a multi-year performance art piece. And this phase is another act in the play…

Daughter cracks me up. She’s gotten the day off on Monday, and one of her friends who’s off also will be coming over. She intends to rearrange all of her furniture. I know partly it’s because he’s taking some things, but I think mostly, it’s a way to get a clean re-start.

Last night, I finally got a good, uninterrupted night’s sleep. Unfortunately, my poor sweetie seems to have contracted a bug - he was up much of the night praying to the porcelain gods. :frowning: He’s trying to sleep now, so I’ll put off several chores till he’s up. I need to vacuum, then clean the carpet in the dining room. Apparently Scruffy peed in multiple places while I was gone. **FCD **most certainly shouldn’t have hauled out the steam cleaner, which he didn’t so that’s good. I’ll take care of it today.

Since SIL has taken his computer, I’ve got my small flat screen monitor back, but it’s too small and lacks the resolution I prefer. But at least I’ve reclaimed some desk space. And the monster CRT I was using is going to be recycled. So there’s that.

Anyway, Happy Firday!!!

Ouch pugs be careful!

Well I am sitting in the middle of an empty apartment and feeling…well a little conflicted actualy if I am honest. Off to pastures new and be with my hubby but a little sad that this chapter is officially closed. The customs seal just went on the container and I watched it pull away. :frowning:

All that is left to do is wipe the kitchen down and take the trash out. Then I am going to take myself for a nice late lunch.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

Careful, Pugs!

There’s always the dental floss angle to consider regarding your TMI…

Firday blurfs, y’all.

GT, the smoke alarm battery thing is the first part of Fireman Bob’s Law, of which the second part says: All carbon monoxide detectors shall require a battery change in the two calendar weeks following Halloween, also initiating the low battery chirp between 1 and 3 AM as required of smoke detectors. This actually is a design requirement for the purpose of endearing you with the local fire department.

[double post]

Damned network connection in the new joint.

I think that should be called Edith’s Law.

Looking at lolcats has made me crave a cheeseburger. Must go to Five Guys for lunch…

FCM - even though it’s sad, it sounds like a very good idea for those two to split up. I hope FCM feels better soon. I’ll bet he’s ready to get back to work.

Be careful, Pugs!

{{{mmmms}}} - change - even a good change - is hard.

:smack: - thanks for the clarification, Haze! I think…

ReboSon goes to court today. They are just filing a postponement or whatever you call it. I called him to make sure he was awake this morning - he worked last night. He has no clue about rush hour traffic in the morning - he is *so *not a morning person!

Looks like I’ll have to work tomorrow. Oh well, my check will be really nice.

Off to eat leftover pizza for breakfast - since I worked late last night and didn’t have time to cook. Swampy - can you come to Texas and be my personal chef?

**Rebo **- **FCD **is more than ready to get back to work. He’s got the light-duty letter to give to his HR and I know he’ll get helpers to carry stuff for him, so that makes me feel better.

I may suggest to him that we drive to his office this weekend to take his computer and stuff back. Don’t know if he’ll agree, but we shall see…

I have decided that today is clean-the-kitchen day. I’m going to clean all the cabinets inside and out, then clean the fridge (ick) and on Monday when our cleaning girls do the floor and counters and appliances, the kitchen will sparkle!! Of course, I need to get out of my robe and clean myself first. Eventually…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Been up and at ‘em for a while. Checked on the pool. It’s comin’ along nicely. Pool guy will be back at some point to check up on things too.

Also, I attempted to give my neighbor a jumpstart as she called and said she had a daid car battery. What’s daid is the starter. Anywho, she found all this out as she was leavin’ to go to Pensacola, FL for the funeral of a niece. This niece’s father died last year of some type of cancer and this niece died from leukemia this week. :frowning: Thus, I lent her twuck to go to Pensacola. She was all in tears and huggin’ me all over when I told her to take twuck. Ya know though, what kind of person would I have been not to lend twuck to her given the reason she was needin’ to go to Pensacola. She was all, “I had planned to stay until Monday but I’ll come back after the funeral tomorrow” but I told her to just stay like she’d planned. Her mother, daughter and grandkids are all there and I know she was wantin’ to spend a little time with them too.

mmmmmms like Rebo said, any change is hard. Just think of the happy ummmm… “dance” you’ll be doin’ with hubby in a few days.

swampy, you’re such a nice guy. Will you come and mow my lawn??
