It’s still raining. Looks like it rained all night. According to an hourly report, it should stop in a couple of hours, and before noon, the sun might even peek out! So I guess washing the car did the trick!
Today’s biggest plan is gathering all the knitted/crocheted projects and running them thru a quick wash to remove (in theory) dog and cat hair. Plus I need to move enough snow to get the truck out of the yard. Beyond that, it should be a lazy day. Naturally, I expect something to happen that will screw it all up, but I can dream, right?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! UP and caffeineatin’. YAWN 'Tis 58 and rainy out with a predicted high of 76 and rain for the day. So it’ll be way warmer but wet. I can deal with that!
Nettie what Rosieand doggio said. Your reactions were perfectly normal.
Today’s plans include deheathenization and that’s pretty much all the plan for the day. This, of course, will mean, other stuff will happen.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. At some point, purtification for deheathenization must also commence.
I’m up and showered while RT I’d still snoozing away in bed. I’m thinking it would be wrong to eat his already cut birthday cake (his birthday is tomorrow but he won’t be home) and ice cream for breakfast before he got up. Right??
Meanwhile, I’m not a squirrel, but I also got my hair stuck in my jacket zipper yesterday, doggio.
It’s a cloudy 28 degrees, so where are the warm temps we are supposed to have today?
Sah-son shoveled the walks last night. Poor dog is still belly deep in snow out back, He must like it though, he wags his tail the whole time he’s outside.
Not much on the agenda today, mostly irk and always some cleaning around here. If nothing else vacuum and run the dust mop over the floors.
Sat in yesterday playing computer games and listening to the scanner. At one point Route 100 (a major highway) was completely iced over with police cars and ambos getting in accidents trying to help people.
I thought of volunteering some time at work but my current work car is a front wheel drive rental and I just didn’t feel like taking a personal car. That and I had been down in Richmond for the sentencing of the ex-governor’s wife (which was a long, very cold day) so my desire to pitch in was limited too.
The truck is back where it belongs, and there are parts of the yard that look awful. I think it’s just muddy, and having the truck drive across it makes it look worse than it is, but still, I dread seeing the yard this spring. Gonna be a mess!
We were supposed to go to my mom’s AARP meeting tomorrow - **FCD **was going to do a presentation on his time at NASA and some space stuff. They got about 8" of snow yesterday and right now, Mom is afraid to venture out. Plus there’s a smooth, kinda steep hill up to her house and if it’s slippery, ain’t no way she’ll get up there. Or us, either. So depending on what happens today, she may cancel and reschedule us for another day. No biggie either way.
Meanwhile, I have one more load of shirts to wash. Good times…
Our roads refroze last night after raining all day. The brunch potluck was canceled for weather, so once again, cabin fever has set in. I am so looking forward to spring.
Today’s agenda includes doing laundry and fixing this week’s lunch rotation meal. Such excitement.
Back and holier than some of you heathens. The drive was ----- interesting. A lot of ice and more ice. Puppied out slightly and took the closest church rather than my usual congregation.
We spent the day running around yesterday. Got the fancy-schmancy car wash and detail for my rig; rented a trailer, went to Lowes and bought lots of fencing material, and by the time we got home, had time to only put up one section before the sun started to go down.
We then went to the drug store for some Fireball Whiskey, and then to the Growler place to pick up a couple of growlers of Wicked Baked Apple pie hard cider. We enjoyed some Angry Balls (it’s a drink–two shots of Fireball followed and then the hard cider poured on top of that). Good stuff. I also broiled up a couple of steaks.
We’ll finish the rest of the fence rebuild today, followed by a dump run to get rid of the old fencing. There’s also laundry that needs doing.
I talked to the girl I thought had a crush on me, but it turns out that she was joking. And I took her seriously. And I’m usually the one making jokes towards people and having them take me seriously. oops! Guess the joke’s on me this time.
Had a busy day yesterday, with two shows and a party afterwards! Good times.
Howdy Y’all! Miss me today? We deheathenated, then had N.O.L. OYKW had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for Captain D’s of all things, so we went there. When I got back to da cave, I spiffed up the place a bit. Now it’s chill time. ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out as I post. We had rain this mornin’ and another band is allegedly movin’ into the area. ‘Tis gettin’ all cloudy out.
Dogbutt, did you realize it’s Paul Dooley’s birthday today?
Not only was he the dad in one of the greatest cycling movies, but he was the Hyannisport Announcer in the greatest hockey documentary ever made!
