It's Monday Somewhere-an MMP

Heh. I guess you didn’t hear about the ThunderSnow over the weekend in Boston et environs

:D:D**It’s snowing! **:D:D

We’ll see how happy I am about this at 6:30 tomorrow morning when I have to get ready to go to irk. But for right now :D:D it’s snowing!:D:D

It’s about 50 degrees here and the sun is shining. While I don’t want any of your East Coast snow down at my elevation, some snow up in our mountains would be very much appreciated. It is dire up there. Seriously, most of our ski resort are closed. I fear we’re headed for drought this summer.

I’m getting ready to head out to Lowes to buy big cement blocks. My plan is bury them along the fence line-level with the bottom of the fence boards so my escape artist Husky can’t dig out. I was going to buy quik-crete, but lugging around 80 pound bags of cement and pushing a wheelbarrow full of mixed cement uphill isn’t happening with my jacked up arm and shoulder. Digging a trench and lugging those blocks won’t do wonders for said arm and shoulder, but it seems easier than the cement thing.

I think we have had a thunderstorm in winter maybe once or twice.

My dad’s going to try to call the car-starting guy. In the meantime, maybe I should work on some music arrangements.

StickyBuns I was quite amused as well. :smiley:

red the “No Snow” signs are too big to fit in the cd/cup holder thingy.

Why, Spidey! Way to make a girl blush. :wink:

6 layers, EmilyG? I don’t own six layers :eek: And it’s thunder you don’t like?!? You’re made of strong stuff, girl!!!

Gee I guess my 68 degrees isn’t too bad :stuck_out_tongue:

This must be of some comfort to dogsled mushers.

Snow has started in Navytown.

I had a GI appointment in Mordor on the Potomac scheduled for tomorrow, and wound up moving it out a couple of weeks. Just gonna hunker down tonight and tomorrow instead.

I’d rather be out in the freezing cold with 6 layers than in a thunderstorm, where I can get struck and seriously hurt or killed by lightning.

No::mad::mad::mad:**It’s snowing! **:mad::mad::mad:

Dammit. And it’s been so cold, the pavement isn’t melting anything.

Dammit.

I just looked up the current temperature in Montreal. Minus 13 Celsius/ 8 Fahrenheit. Don’t know what it would be with the wind chill though.

My guess? Cold as fuck!

‘Tis 60 Amurrkin and cloudy here. I ain’t complainin’ though. No snow, sleet or other nasty stuff. I can deal with the alleged rain that’s comin’.

Almost time to head on over to the church house and get stuff started. I need to stop at Sam’s for gas. I should have done that this mornin’ but I didn’t so there ya go.

Laterz!

It might be the one chance for teenage boys up there to pee ice cubes. I suggest they not waste it.

There are wind chill calculators online. What’s your current wind speed?

The snow has stopped. Now it’s sleeting. Or to quote FCM:

:mad::mad::mad:**It’s sleeting! **:mad::mad::mad:

NO ICE. GO 'WAY.

Now that was the absolute hottest shower I’ve ever taken.

It’s still coming down, but I don’t think an inch has accumulated yet. However, the local weather guys are saying the worst will come overnight. Luckily, it’s very lightweight, so shoveling should be relatively easy. Not like heavy, wet snow.

There’s a branch in the front yard that came down and stuck upright, more or less, in the ground. I took a pic when the snow started. We’ll see how much is visible tomorrow.

Schools are already announcing closures for tomorrow, and **FCD **is pretty sure he won’t be going in. He’ll decide when he gets up.

Supper was yum - I had a hunk of turkey in the freezer along with a packet of turkey gravy. With smashed N.O.T.s, cranberry jelly, and leftover succotash - we’s both stuffded!!

The news just reported 7/16" of ice in the area.

To quote Mooom:

:mad::mad::mad: NO ICE! :mad::mad::mad:
