Sorry guys. Even more mundane than the thread I started a few days ago.
See, I’m “facilitating” this class (flipping the slides, helping users, connecting phones) which is being taught over a conference call. Half of the class is here, and I don’t think anyone’s paying attention. Everyone worked their way through the book days ago, and is bumming out on the Internet. Hell, I’m not even in uniform today. Anybody else working today that shouldn’t be? I’m so freakin’ bored right now. I’m not even paying attention to my own class. . .

I had to take a sick day this week (and being a temp, I don’t get paid for them), so I am working on a Friday, and I never work on Fridays. (Okay, sensing I’m not getting a lot of sympathy here.) So, you’re looking for things to occupy yourself? How about listing things that you would like to start threads about but are too stupid even for MPSIMS? Here’s a link that I always find entertaining.
I’m off today - decided to make a 4-day weekend. So far, I’ve spent 3 hours on ICQ, changed the linens on my bed, and started a load of jeans in the wash. I really should be filing all the crap on the desk here… I will… I really will… soon…

[li] Happy Birthday to my son! I did that fateful trip to the hospital 3 years ago this afternoon. He was born during “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” by Meat Loaf. At least thats what was playing in the NICU when we got him in there. Seeing as how my wife and I are Meat Loaf fans, it was kinda ironic.[/li][li] Now that the Democrats control the senate, will we see progress? DUH! Have we seen any in the past few years? No. So we won’t see any now.[/li][li] I hate Jackson’s current Mayor. He’s a world class moron. Even dumber is the fact that most of this town will vote for him like the brain dead morons they are. Stupid.[/li][li] Streaming Radio sounds better over a Cable Modem.[/li][li] I can’t wait to see Fellowship of the Ring.[/li][li] So, old Robert “Cokefiend” Downey is going to get off with a slap on the wrist. None of my coworkers in green are here today, so getting actual work done isn’t possible. Thank God I’ll be out of here by 2:PM.[/li][/ul]

Illegal on gov’t machines. Besides, I swore off all MSN, AIM, ICQ, and any other instant messenger stuff for two reasons:
1) I’m already too easy enough get ahold of. I don’t need another avenue for people to get me for work or stuff. 2) When I was working as a computer lab monitor back in college, I watched over a summer science camp group. The high school kids did nothing but the instant messenger crap, and left no open machines for the regular college students. I would arbitrarily boot off teenie-boppers and tell them to make room for “real work”.
Thus, instant messenging is my mortal enemy.

But today I’m in my “Happy Homemaker” mode… or I should be. Unlike you, I fired up ICQ - pretty much shot any useful activities for the day. I’m so weak… <sigh> So, who wants to chat???
can’t seem to find the time on work days to do the data entry necessary (phone rings, people stop in etc. etc etc.) so, have data entry window up and work while stuff is reloading, play while data entry is loading up new pages. and everybody will be happy. sigh. well, at least I will be when I’m done with the next 15 files…
well this is certainly depressing. It’s five hours later and I still have 3 more files to do. Of course, I had to deal with teenaged son for about 45 minutes, but still…
