“I’m more than 63 years old. I’ll make jokes about aging if I feel like it. If others don’t like it, then get the hell off my lawn!” ![]()

It sounds like he’s going to be back on the Enterprise.
If the Enterprise is going to be the ship on the show, I wonder if it will be the Enterprise-E, or if it will be upgraded to a completely new class of ship such as the Enterprise-F or Enterprise-G?
Aaannd I just lost interest. How disappointing. ![]()
It doesn’t sound like that at all. The “Enterprise” part of those quotes appear to be assumptions without any evidence.
I’ll bet they’re going to fuck with the design some more to make it even uglier and more cluttered.
You could be right. I can see how it could be interpreted that way. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

DrDeth, you’ve been here more than long enough to know that if you have a beef with other posters, you should take it to the Pit. As I recall, you also have quite the history of threadshitting. If a thread does not suit you, there is a very simple solution to that.
It’s interesting that advanced medical care probably means Star Ships would have much older crew members.
A hundred year old Captain could easily be possible. It all depends on how successfully the effects of aging can be slowed down or reversed. There’s research even today on aging and the effects on our cells.
160 year life spans may not be unusual 700 years from now.
I’ve noticed age is rarely mentioned in the Trek world. These people could be oldet than they look.
Wasn’t Bones like 150-something when he made a cameo in STNG?
Something like that, but there was also an implication that he was unusual in having lived that long.
Remember the TOS episode “Shore Leave,” where Bones was run through with a lance, was lying there dead, and then somehow turned up alive again thanks to the “advanced medical techniques” of the Shore Leave planet? My personal theory has long been that the “advanced medical technique” was to transfer his mind into an artificial body, a body so perfect that it ages and requires sleep and can even contract diseases.
IOW, Bones has been an android since midway through TOS Season 1.

In TOS, Kirk was 34, Chekov was 22, Charlie Evans and the girl Rand found for him were 17, Sarek was 102 (middle-aged for a Vulcan), Amanda was 58 (middle-aged for a human), and McCoy was 45.
CBS has filed a trademark application for the name STAR TREK: RELIANT. Could be a clue. Could also be a coincidence.
I really doubt it will be good. Now if they had brought fuller back as the show runner I might have been forced to get their crappy streaming service, but as of now will not be shelling out my money for it. Wish they would sell the episodes on amazon at least like they do with the Orville. The Orville is the real star trek these days.
Resurrecting this because the title has been officially announced. The creatively named Star Trek: Picard
Nobody has a said a word about Benjamin Sisko, Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner, Katherine Pulaski, or Hikaru Sulu. Until now.
