The last week or so we have had amazing weather! And it damn well better be, seeing as how I’m paying 1275 a month for a crappy one bedroom apartment surrounded by retard college kids.
Saturday we walked down to the beach and Sunday we went up to the Botanical Garden for a few hours. I can’t wait until spring because it’s going to be so much nicer up there.
This upcoming weekend I’m thinking of taking the girlie up to the Butterfly Forest for a nice walk.
It’s spectacular up here in the bay area, as well. The high has been about 73 degrees for two days straight - in January! We office women are able to wear skirts and short sleeves, and I had lunch al fresco for two days in a row. I even got a sunburn!
Gotta enjoy it while it lasts, as it’ll probably revert to normal bone-chilling wintry weather in a day or two.
It rained a bit today and the highs for the rest of the week will be in the upper 60s but I’ll enjoy it while I can. I might even wear a jacket to work tomorrow.
It was pretty beautiful here this evening as well.
It’s one of those cold clear clean nights when the wind comes from the northwest, seemingly direct from the Arctic. As dusk faded into night, the pure colours of the sunset faded through deep blues and purples towards black. The stars appeared. Venus scintillated in the west.
It’s the kind of beauty that makes me glad it’s winter: the slush is frozen and conditions are dry; it’s actually easier to dress for it and stay warm than when it’s wet near freezing.
I’m near Santa Cruz in CA and it hit 80 yesterday in the mountains. It’s been beautiful and perfect for days now and I’m getting a tan in January from working in the garden and reading in the sun. My only worry is that it will force an early bloom on my fruit trees before there are any pollinators around.
(from Palo Alto) I’m hoping some rain will blow through soon and then get back to good weather by the time the Tour of California bicycle race starts in February. The 2006 and 2007 editions of the race had mostly terrific weather, but last year it was miserable for the most part. Right now I’m feeling that this wonderful, but unnatural January weather is jinxing February. Plus we need the rain, let’s get it over with!
It’s actually really nice here today, which is a bit of a surprise. It’s supposed to get colder/cooler here over the next few days, but certainly nothing to complain about. One of the benefits of living in the Sunshine State. Just wish the guards would do a better job of patrolling the borders and keeping those pesky Yankees out.
It was 8° when I got in the car this morning, went down to 7° on the trip, but climbed into double digits by the time I got to work (warmer by the lake, you know). The intranet says it’s still 11° with “light snow fog mist.” Suuuuuper.
Another gorgeous day here on the central coast of CA. Looks like the high was in the low 80s. I lived in the midwest and northeast for years and I do not miss the weather. Nope, not one bit!
(But I do feel a little guilty that it’s so nice here when it’s so cold elsewhere…)
