Like 9" in the last 3-4 hours. They’re thinking that it may hit 12-14", or more.
Whee! At least 3 tornados in the area (Austin, TX), plus lots of flooding.
You always think that it just happens to other people, then you see your neighbors Ford Explorer float down the street. I guess I’m just glad to have power right now.
I left work early, so I could beat the bad part of the storm to my house.
Microbug is still up at the office, and is the only one there. She’s freaking out just a bit, what with all the tornadoes about, but since she works in a building designated as a fallout shelter, she’s a heck of a lot safer than I am. No clue at all when she’ll be able to make it home- IH35 is packed and/or flooded.
And dammit, the power keeps going out. Good thing I’ve got a UPS here. The backyard’s completely flooded. Poor dogs really need to go outside, but they’re such wussies when it comes to rain.
Bored, bored, rainy day.
We’re supposed to go to the Texas Renaissance Festival tomorrow night… hope the weather improves.
Yeah, it rained a little out here also. About six plus inches in three hours. My rain guage starts running over after six inches, so I think I had more but can’t say how much.
It is raining here, too. Not that much, but enough to get me off work. I work at a State Park, and if it is expected rain all day, I don’t have to go I love my job.
I was stunned that the power in my apartment never went out, though it flickered a few times. My roommate was stuck on campus because the shuttle buses quit running.
Did anyone have any damage?
As an afterthought, is a Raving Nude Hermit allowed to wear a raincoat? Or must one stick to an umbrella so as not to lose Raving Nude status?
