It's raining and I can't walk my dog MMP

Back from the laundromat, had lunch. Since this is the 38 minute period in the South between the end of 2nd Winter and the start of Pollen Season, I have the windows open. Now Gordie can hear The Invisible Mole People even farther away.:smack:

BLURF

Went to bed at 11:30, woke up at ~2am with horrible heartburn. Had to hit the antacids. Lay awake until about 4:30 when I assploded. Took an imodium and finally got back to sleep around 6. I feel like I’ve been rode hard, drug through a knothole, and then rode hard back. :frowning:

We used to have a smoke alarm in the pantry that went off every time we boiled water, and one upstairs (on a 10-foot ceiling) that would always wait until 2am to start beeping that it’s battery was going dead. They are both gone to neverneverland. I really should replace them with something better. They make better ones now don’t they?

The ants are back in our kitchen with a vengeance. (That doesn’t look at all right, but my spell-checker says there’s an ‘a’ in there.) Today I’ll have to crawl around outside spreading ant poison around what passes for a foundation under this old house.

Mom, I have a “twenty year garage”. There are tires out there that fit on cars we got rid of 20 years ago. Unfortunately, the [del]dump[/del] recycling center charges to take them, and our experiences with craigslist haven’t exactly been stellar.

Spidey, I worked with a young woman once who had a double mastectomy. When she came back to work she was telling us about how they made new ones for her, with new nipples and everything. She wouldn’t do show-and-tell either. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Thorsday y’all.

Home at last! It’s nearly 80° and the house is wide open! Back to the low 60s tomorrow and 50s this weekend, alas. Perhaps spring will arrive yet…

Also, 1st on 3!

W00T!

Doesn’t count if you don’t realize it until 4 hrs later; that’s in the rule book. :smack:
[del]Dinner[/del] snack is bread & butter & a yogurt; off to run club.

What would be really cool is if the MMPers would get involved in the 13th Annual Shot Glass Exchange.

It turned into a beautiful day today.
I sat out back with the pup, which makes him very happy.
He likes chasing the squirrels. If he ever catches one I suspect he will treat it like the cat, hold it down and chew on it’s head.
The squirrel will be soggy and angry, but otherwise unhurt.

I wish it got close to the 80s here, I would love to open the windows.
Only 66 though, still a bit chilly.

I’m in.

Especiallyif we get a MMPuppy!

silenus, areyou short a kitchy one from Nashville?

I didn’t sleep well last night. I thundered and stormed, and while that’s nice sleeping weather for this human, it isn’t when she has a scared pup in the bed with her. :frowning: Poor little guy. I worry how he’ll handle Independence Day.

We had a departmental meeting today where they announced a new management structure complete with three promotions. Now to fill the open positions at the bottom of the list (I’m somewhere in the middle).

Among others.

We haven’t done this in awhile so people aren’t looking for it yet. The more the merrier, the rest of you, so if you’ve never participated in one of these before, dive on in!

I’d like to be in the shot glass exchange, though I don’t drink and I don’t know the rules about me sending alcohol in the mail. Though I participated before and sent a shot glass of candies instead.
(Hope I don’t sound like a party pooper. )

So, what am I up to now? I’m looking into doing some exercises for my hands that my physiotherapist suggested, to help my tendinitis. And I’m making some sheplanigans (plans for shenanigans.)

Squirrels

Back when I was petting sitting I used to watch a little Yorkie. I didn’t know dogs could get much smaller until my clients got a mini-yorkie. The yorkie was a little coward, afraid of everything, but the mini? Used to go after the squirrels. I was afraid if she ever caught one, the squirrel would snatch her up and carry her up the tree.

That works too. Anybody shipping internationally runs afoul of the various liquor restrictions. The important thing is to send a shot glass (and stuff) and make new friends. And get neat stuff from weirdos you’ve never met.

Yes, one only needs to send the glass, booze is not required. I don’t actually drink out of most of the glasses, except to “christen” them, but they have their own shelf and are so cool to look at.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and rainy with thunder in the distance, with a predicted high of 74, rain this mornin’ and mostly cloudy this afternoon. The big plan for the day is Good Friday services over to the church house this evenin’. There are two services, the Episcopal service at noon and the Lutheran service at six p.m. We shall go be Luteruns so we can go together. We shall sup at the local good seafood place. Fried shrimpies in my future. YUM!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Firday Y’all! A Blessed Good Friday to all who observe.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

Horrible broken night last night - ugh. We had the windows open, and I’m thinking part of my problem may have been pollen-related, tho it may be too early for that here. The main problem, tho, was a conversation I had with my daughter. She’s thinking her baby may come sooner than 2 weeks from now. She said when the Dr examined her yesterday, he poked Roxy in the head, so she’s prepared to launch.

And since FCD doesn’t have any pressing jobs at the moment, he wants to go with me. That means I have to tell my sister that she can’t go - she’s going to be bummed, but daddies rank higher than aunts.

I was also thinking about how we’ll handle the critters - I’ll ask Baby Engineer to stay over, but he won’t be back till Tuesday. What if labor starts tonight?? Anyway, all that stuff was running thru my head and I kept waking up in fret mode. It’s gonna be a long day.

Happy Firday anyway. <yawn>

My friend had a dog who would chase, catch, and eat squirrels.

Clearly a reincarnated member of my family!
Got so busy yesterday adulting that I never got near the Dope. On the good side Bessie is about ready for spring. On the bad side we’re talking flurries and maybe some general dusting and ice the next couple nights. That and rain – lots of rain. Makes my knees and neck a little stiff from the temp changes and dampness.
