Or I am supposed to follow up on my order on the phone? But if that is the case then why not just use the phone from the start since it’s more natural? I always felt that if I ordered through the website, they may not get it the order and I would have to call to see what’s going on. Just doesn’t feel like you have real confirmation that your food is on the way.
Also I feel like if it’s ordered online they may not be in a rush to get to it.
What like pizza places? Ordering online is the best thing ever. I don’t have to talk to someone, go through a whole list of misunderstandings, repeated “WHAT!?s,” and special requests when I can just fill out a form.
I really don’t see what you’re concerned about. Ordering online guarantees that the kitchen will receive your order in the exact way you placed it, without having to rely on the memory or hand-scrawled notes of the phone-answering-person as an intermediary. And it makes it a lot easier to place a really complicated order.
…If restaurants were in the habit of letting you place your order and take your money, then throwing your order slip in the garbage and laughing at you while pocketing the change, I don’t think they’d stay in business long.
I am thinking if I decide to order a pizza on game day online, they are not in a big rush to get to it since it was ordered online. Especially if there is no follow up call
The time for delivery depends on who I’m ordering from, day of the week, time of. Just like ordering by phone. The one time my food took an excessive amount of time for delivery, the store called to let me know that it was going to take a long time.
I order food online several times a week. For the most part it’s fine, but now and then there are hiccups. We’ve learned by now what places are reliable.
Why? An order is an order. If anything, there’s probably more pressure to get an online order finished quickly, since there’s a timestamp on when it was placed and fast food management types love anything that can be used to establish a speed-of-service metric.
