It's SPRING in the MMP!

{{{shoe}}}

nut, I haven’t lived in a roommate situation since the early nineties when I was the lone female (a couple of them called me the den mother) in a houseful of drag queens. It was fun, but I was glad when I found a place to myself.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. Not much except the usual Sunday chores on tap for today.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

It always rains on trash-and-recycling day.

Grandma Boo’s play day with Harriet. When it warms up after lunch we’ll play outside in the backyard but for now we are doing fun stuff inside. Messy fun stuff.

High temp is supposed to be 61 degrees so she will no doubt play barefoot. She laughs at the cold.

My wife’s cousin’s daughter is asking for donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital for her birthday. She wants to donate $200. She has already met her goal.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s been a blurfy kind of day, I think putting the clocks forward has upset the weather gods to the point where they’ve just decided not to bother today. The weather app says “Yet another shitty fucking day” and promises me 12C/54F all day and mostly cloudy. That’s pretty accurate, it’s just grey out there.

I had no plans for the day so I slept late, faffed about with the weight watchers tracking app to put some info in, foraged for lunch, did a workout and I’m now running a bath. That’s the sum total of activity for my day apart from making dinner tonight which I’ve already decided shall be chilli with brown rice.

Other than that, sloth and chillage are in order along with many cups of tea to fortify myself for the coming week.

Done and finished with 3 loads of laundry. It’s still dreary, altho the rain and thunder was short-lived. There’s still a chance of more precip today. Promise of sun tomorrow with much cooler temps - it may be a good day to rake the front lawn.

Not sure what the rest of today holds for me. I don’t want to go anywhere, I don’t want to do anything, I can’t think of anything on TV that I want to watch. I’m bored with being bored. And I’m too awake to nap.

And I miss my sweetie. :frowning:

Rain, rain, rain, and I want to walk today–to the store, if nowhere else, and it’s a babushka cart errand. I’ll have to cover the cart, as I can’t get it under the umbrella. Nothing says class like a babushka cart with a trash bag over the top.

Today is Sunday, and I’ll hear from my kids. Yesterday I had a good talk with my old college roommate and a great talk with Old Flame.

shoe, I have the same issue. I have to buy EE shoes because of it. The alignment thingies did nothing. I loathe the idea of surgery and would cut holes in my shoes before having an operation, but there’s a new procedure that requires a MUCH shorter recovery time and less pain. Google lapiplasty.

Moooom, so glad you had a nice time with your family. I hope FCD is able to get home soon. Sounds like you both need each other’s company.

BooFae, it’s raining here, too. Reading today’s posts, I keep thinking of that song “Rainy Night in Georgia”: “Feels like it’s rainin’ all over the world.”

red, you sure have lived a colorful life. I bet you have some stories to tell!

boo, I’d wish you Happy Harriet Day, but a girl who laughs at cold must be pretty happy every day, and if she’s happy, you’re happy, right?

nut, that sounds like a horrible living situation. I hope the expectant couple moves out and are replaced by a very quiet single person who never hogs the bathroom.

Just got back from the nail place and am a happier girl. Nails are now at a length that doesn’t mess with typing and they look good (I went with a multicolor glitter polish).

Still got the usual Sunday stuff, such as other minor erranding once DH completes stickerizing his new hard hat. In his opinion, this is the most urgent possible project today (sigh).

Howdy Y’all! We had a very nice and well-attended Palm Sunday service. We discovered that work needs to be done on the seatin’ plan for outdoor services. Oh well, at least now we have some ideas on how to make it better now. Hard to know stuff like that before an attempt is made. N.O.L. was excellent. I got my catfish filets and OYKW got his fried shrimpies. Nappage has been achieved. I may or may not make some muffins. What? I pulled the muffin mix out. That’s a start! Also the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can will be hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow at some point. It’s been cloudy(ish) most of the day. The sun has peeked out from time to time but no rain. However, it could rain. Or not.

nuts your livin’ situation does not sound idea. However, I now want a tshirt that says “Dodgy Geezer.”

red I have never been a fan of drag queens, so more power to you.

shoe hope the footsies feel better today.

MOOOOOOM sloth away. I’m sure Higgs likes havin’ a sloth partner.

Nettie yay for the sparkly nails. Go easy on DH. That hardhat is not goin’ to sticker itself you know.

Did the cleaning, took Gordie out in between storms(the 0600 one, combined with a full bladder and a snoring terrier woke me up). Swine is marinating.

I was on the 3rd floor in an apartment in Mordecai. Fran rocked the building so hard, I got rocked to sleep.

Bulimic Supermodel Cat hornked on the carpet, I feel your pain. {{{{shoe}}}}

Sounds like something a dancer at The Foxy Lady would get if she had repetitive motion disorder from too many lap dances.

FIL is still in the hospital - maybe tomorrow? Something about having to arrange for PT at home before they can discharge him.

They did determine that he had a (several?) stroke and FCD said there’s 100% chance it’ll happen again, especially if his dad doesn’t follow doctor’s orders. And his parents are notorious for not following orders when they think they know better. I’m wondering if he’ll even be alive when we’re due to go back there in 3 weeks…

On a happier note, I watched Hamilton again, then tread the mill. I just fed Higgs and I’m about to build myself a salad (after eating way too many sweets yesterday.) It’s going to be nice but cool tomorrow. I’ll do a convenience center run, then I’m going to try to pick up/rake up the assorted branches, twigs, sticks, and gum tree pods off the front lawn. My sweetie may or may not be able to head home tomorrow - it depends on how early his dad is discharged and when he can get him settled.

So, off to the kitchen with me!!

nellie and swampy, the roomie situation was when I suddenly needed to escape an abusive relationship. There were three couples and one single, who was show director at a local drag bar. Most of them were weekend warriors and presented as dudes during the workweek. There were times when we borrowed clothing and / or shoes from one another. Other times, the show director would call upon me to help with stage makeup for the shows (I was involved in community theater and did that sort of thing). Like I said, it was fun, but I was glad to find a place of my own.

I got the Sunday chores done and fixed lentil stuffed aigplant with Indian fried cabbage for supper. Now for KP.

Plants are inside as of this morning. Good thing, too; it started sleeting/snowing by noon-ish. Big bin is out at the curb, and Chili’s provided dinner so’s I didn’t hafta do nuthin’ except pay the nice fella for my bag o’food.

Got corn AND a salad, so that’s, like, my required veggie servings for the month, right?

If you ever write a book, I’d read it.

And you’ll let her. You won’t say things like, “I’m cold. Go put on a sweater.” You won’t make her stay inside just because it’s chilly.

(Yeah. I’m a mite jealous. But good on ya, Grandma Boo for giving her a happy, secure childhood.)

Am googling. Am interested. The old method is barbaric: “Let’s break your foot bones (or saw 'em in half!) and hope that helps!”

At least there’s some glimmer of hope that the future might provide a less-barbaric treatment. Thank you for this nugget of information!

You know what? I hadn’t even thought about them all day. So yeah, definitely less pain. Thank you for the good wishes, swampy! I guess they worked.

I LOL’d.

Salad was good. I texted with FCD, then had some wine. It made me sleepy. So I think I shall…

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow in just a slight drizzle. Ten minutes later the heavens opened up. Do I got timin’ or what! It was a heavy rain at times with some thunderbooms even. This week we shall have warmish temps, followed by coolish temps. This means we will go from Spring/Summer to Spring/Fall. Weather in the southern U.S.of A. be weird!

shoe glad I could give you some happy footie thoughts.

red glad the dqs were there for ya when you needed them to be there.

MOOOOOOM nitey nite and here’s hopin’ FCD gets to head back tomorrow.

You bet! Especially that squeal from her when I open the front door “Grandma’s here!”, with the unspoken subtext of …”and all the rules are off!”

Make mine ‘dodgy geezerette”. Purple, size 2XL, ladies cut.

And who never, ever uses the kitchen or fridge cause they eat all their meals out.

Here’s hoping it all goes slicker than snot and he’s heading north by noon. {{{{{{ both of yahz }}}}}

Nope, I’m the original barefoot hippie chick so bare tootsies are fine by me. I don’t make her eat all her vegetables before dessert either.

Does every town have a The Foxy Lady? My podunk Midwestern burg has one. Is it a dang franchise? Like Tupperware or Mary Kay?

Was a it a sketchy strip club in the bad part of town there, too?

It is a sketchy strip club (the front facing windows and doors are painted black), but it is on the main drag leading out of downtown, which is also the business district and only a few blocks from the state Capitol building and the governor’s mansion.

The rain let up, the sun came out, and I happily trotted to the grocery store, whereupon it clouded up and the rain came back with a vengeance. I had no choice but to walk home in the downpour (sans umbrella because I trusted Mother Nature, that hypocrite). I used a nylon shopping bag I have to cover groceries, but the wind blew it away. Oh, well, I made it.

Both kids called, so I am content–joyful, even.

Now, see, I would think a lapiplasty would be for the customer, whose lap, is, after all, danced upon.
“Why’ncha siddown, Earl?”
“Can’t. Broke my lap and hadda have it removed.”
“Foxy Lady?”
“Yup.”
