BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A handful of explosions rocked Baghdad at dawn on Thursday as jets roared overhead, Iraqi anti-aircraft batteries opened up and air raid sirens sounded.

Watching the news just a few moments ago, I got that there weren’t any jets roaring overhead. What was in the sky was anti-aircraft fire.

Apparently, the initial bombardment was a specific strike against a ‘target of opportunity’. Apparently, they got some intelligence that someone very high up in the leadership was making a break for it, and they hit whatever it was.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The main frequency of Iraqi state radio appeared to be taken over by the U.S. military as U.S. planes began bombing Baghdad at dawn on Thursday.
