Revtim,
I believe we have every right to protest, but I do support our troops. I just hope that when our troops come home, they are not villified (called “baby killers,” etc.) like they were after the VietNam War.
Don’t worry about it.
This war will be like my wedding night. Someone is going to end up badly fucked, but it will only take a second or two.
Although they will be complaining about it for months afterwards.
Regards,
Shodan
This is interesting… while we were watching Hussein’s little rant last night, was wife was positive that the guy talking on camera wasn’t him. Also, we noticed that when you could hear the Arabic (?) he was speaking behind the English translation, it didn’t match up to the movements of his mouth. This could be due to a bad signal feed, I suppose, but something about that broadcast seemed trumped-up to me, too. But my wife’s positive that the guy on camera last night was not the Hussein we’ve all come to know and love.
The word I’ve heard is that Hussein has 8 or 9 lookalikes to take his place. My guess (if it is a fake) is that he didn’t want to give himself away this early, and had one of his lookalikes give the speech for him. Alternatively, he was killed in the initial attack by the “bunkerbuster” and they put this lookalike up to hide that fact.
To make it even better, a commentator on NBC mentioned last night that unlike bin Laden, we do not have a DNA sample for comparison on Hussein. So, even if we did kill him in the attack, there’s likely no good way to positively identify the body. Off to a great start.
I don’t know if last night’s message was a fake or not, but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if it was.
sigh I’m against this war, but there’s little I can do about it now. I only hope that against all hope some good comes out of it.
