Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and fair (as opposed to unjust?) out, with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The rain some of you allude to continues to ignore us in these parts. This mornin’ I get to meet with someone from our church insurance agency. She wants someone to give her a tour of our buildin’s and grounds while she assesses, I assume, the value of it all. Since it involves buildin’s and grounds, it is a duty of the [del]church janitor[/del] Junior Warden. Rah. Anywho, I shall meet her at ten this mornin’ to do so. Hopefully this will take no longer than a couple of hours. After that, who knows what the day will hold. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza and sallit.

I’m still sick, my son is mostly better.

Did my 2-week shopping (I’ll be gone most of the month after the 13th) trip, got everything on the list with only two stops. Will have to visit Wally’s place sometime to pickup a few odds and ends, but nothing else on the agenda. Due to referee a soccer game tomorrow, then come home and watch the Champions’ League final.

We breakfasted, we ran errands, I’ve got the 3 living room afghans laundered and out on the lines, I programmed the thermostats for FCD’s shop, I did the dishes, I vacuumed, and I sprayed some of the poison ivy in the front yard. I just finished a sammich, and I’m about to head to the Amish market for 'maters and strawberries and whatever else looks interesting.
Then I need to decide what we’ll have for supper. It was so much easier when I was just cooking for 2…

Got some more packing done. Other than that getting ready for irk. I know the most time I can do today (a little over 4 hours) because I am up against the cap this week. The next two weeks not so much so with the UPT I’ll be taking.
And then prepping for Prime Week. Oh joy of joys. As long as the site doesn’t crash again this year.
How long does it take for a car alarm to run a battery completely flat? Someone has parked their car and then apparently left the neighborhood. It’s been blatting for a half hour now.

The meetin’ with the church insurance lady finally happened around one p.m. :dubious: She called me twice this mornin’, each time to ask if we could postpone until a little later. The second time I told her one would be the absolute latest I would meet her today. Not that I had anything special to do, just was not goin’ to spend all day dealin’ with this. Anywho, I showed her around and she took notes and pictures of stuff. Would be nice if’n we got reduced rates cause of this but hold my breath I shall not.
I’ve finished combining my storage units. All I have to do now is to sweep out the smaller one, go to the office to close it out, and bring the hand truck back home.

Spent a few hours being chased by angry bees again. This is a weird hobby sometimes… This time they were so determined to get me that when I made it back up the lane- several hundred yards away, to where the landowner was getting some stuff for his bees ready- and took my wellie boots off, 5 bees fell out and straight up went for me :eek: Never had that happen before. I think it’s the weather, it’s close and feels almost stormy, plus there are just so many bees in there right now it’s crazy. I hope they chill out soon though, back in April they were so god natured I wasn’t even really needing a smoker.
On the plus side, fingers crossed I’ll be getting some honey this year; I’m having to put all my spare kit together 'cos they’ve already got all the kit I had ready, and the boxes are pretty well full. I may even have to go buy more… There’s so many of them that they’re eating pretty fast too though.
Anyway, irking tomorrow, getting an advance case of dontwanna. My eczema’s going as crazy as the bees, it’s making my sleep patterns go all haywire. Oh well, I really cannot complain about having two whole days of work in a week.

I dunno but every time I see a story on the news about blood in a storage unit; they usually find the dead body from which said blood came & arrest the renter for murder & abuse of corpse!
Heh. I have a corpse in there, kinda-sorta like this one. I was going to use it in a film, but never got to it.
The real blood was mine. It’s amazing how cardboard, and wooden corners, can rip open the skin.
The Illinois house votes this evening (the senate has already voted in favor) on the legalization of recreational marijuana. They seem poised to vote in favor, and the Governor can’t wait to sign it. This is a thing that I honestly believed would never happen here. I look forward to the day when I can drive to the shop, pick up a bit, and place it prominently on my dashboard as I fearlessly drive it home. Go ahead and pull me over, I’ll point at it and say: “Look at that, officer, that’s pot. Right there. Yes it is.”
I can see, too, in an effort to appease those who oppose this, my state passing a law against showing off. The above scenario might then end with the cop saying: “Sir, I know that marijuana possession is no longer a crime in this state, but you were showing off. Step out of the vehicle.”
