It's the memorial day charlie brown MMP!

Hooray, hooray, it’s a holi-holiday, nanananana nanananana, holi holyday…

Off to the antiques market, to hopefully not buy anything. much. Definitely nothing bigger than a plate. That earworm I just gave myself might qualify as an antique too, it certainly does count as an oldie. Y’all have fun.

It’s a scientific fact that most babies are sold to circuses between 1-3AM because they won’t STOP CRYING!!!

Yep, Roxy had one of *those *nights. So I’m having one of *those *days. But it’s my Firday, so there’s that. I may come in for a few hours this weekend - work is piling up. We shall see.

**FCD **is going to Upper Marlboro today to get 3 sets of shelves for his office - the kind that has the sliding glass door that comes down over each shelf (can’t recall what the style is called.) Anyway, the guy is asking $50 each!!! I think that qualifies as a score!

And SIL is going to Annapolis for training - he’s actually got a (part-time, seasonal) job! Baby steps, I guess.

So lots going in at FairyChatEstates! Happy Thursday!!

May I suggest Danny Daycare.

Got a message from my son and his wife last night that their 12-year-old daughter is in the hospital. She began having nosebleeds and they noticed a rash and bruising. One of the nosebleeds wouldn’t stop, so they took her to the ER, where it was found that her blood platelets were critically low at 6,000 (150,000-450,000 is normal). They got the nosebleed stopped and she’s been diagnosed with Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). Since she was having bleeding, they put her on an IV medication drip to boost the platelets.

Apparently children can develop this after a viral infection, but it is usually much less serious than with an adult. Still, she may be spending at least part of the summer indoors until it is cleared up, as they can’t risk her being injured or cut. This is falling on the one-year anniversary of the death of my son’s brother, so is hitting them extra hard.

Back home with a pair of ridiculously gorgeous serving spatulas in their original box. I totally needed a pair of pretty spatulas, yessir.

Happy Thorsday!

Now I am getting sick, I feel like I have a throat full of broken glass.

It’s a partly cloudy 75 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 82.
I considered taking Ripple to daycare again today since I got so much done yesterday, but he was pretty wiped out when he got home last night. I hope it carries over into today.

I helped my son with his assignments yesterday. This class is supposed to be pretty easy, I sure hope so because his other one is looking rough. We thought they were spread out so he was taking one at a time, but he has two classes for the next four weeks.

I have lots to do again today.
But I don’t want to do anything.

Update on my granddaughter: she’ll be going home today and will be on oral meds for a few weeks, with labs each week to check progress.

Healing thoughts sent to your granddaughter! Poor kid…

I’m ready for today to be over - CREO is being a major-league bitch today.

Cookie, glad to hear granddaughter is going home. Hope she’ll be all better soon.

Sari, you get too sick, you go see the Dr.; don’t need both you and Sah-son messed up at the same time.

Nava, the stuff I have picked up on vacations…but hey, you never know when they’ll come in handy…

FCM, either babies or pets; if one don’t get you the other one will.

LA John, that is a neat jacket.

Not much doing; it is supposed to stay below 90F today (only predicted to reach 86F) and a 50% chance of afternoon showers. If the 50% doesn’t show up, I’ll have to water the yard tomorrow.

'Specially since we ain’t got no trunk. Which goes to show just how talented I is!

I did that back in the early 70s. None of my stuff survived and if it did there is little chance I could use it now. Save the patches though and check the metal insig ------ don’t know about the 90s but back in the day a lot was sterling.

I can (and actually still do) wear some of my high school stuff but --------- I can still do some pants, jackets I always got big so they are fine. But shirts? Forget it. These days I am more into a loose 2XL than a tight large.

Those are called ‘lawyers bookcases’ and if they’re solid wood, worth a good bit more than $50 each. And even if they’re not solid wood, still worth it. So yeah, Score!

Yes. Yes, you do.

When I was in high school we wore loin clothes, and liked it.

Not much doing today. Paying the dentist yesterday wiped out my checking account (and I still owe them >$900) so no big spending sprees, although I’m contemplating a meat loaf for dinner, which will require that I procure some ground beast. I think it’s peculiar that I can often procure petite sirloin steaks for less per pound than hamburger. Wish our meat grinder wasn’t broken. :frowning:

Oh well. Happy Thorsday!

The bookcases are most definitely worth $50 each - solid wood, not particle board. They were part of an estate sale. **FCD **said they also had 4 solid wood shelving units - over 7’ tall and 3’ wide - for $50 each. I’m trying to figure out if we have space anywhere. What a deal!!! We can fit them in this room after the desks are moved to the new building.

It’s overcast and threatening out there. Supper will be grab whatever. Not sure what tomorrow holds, but we shall see.

Bumba apparently kiled the MMP, so I’ll just put this here to revive it.

Made up a shopping list for tomorrow, it will be abbreviated as I’ll be out of town 13-16 June and then 18-30 June so won’t have a lot of time to be eating at home.

Rain has not put in an appearance, so lawn watering is on the schedule for tomorrow.

Somebody else will have to perform CPR next…ETA: Looks like FCM got in ahead of me, so nevermind…

We’re going to buy the other bookcases. Two sets will be up here and 2 will be in the kids’ living room in the basement. Huzzah!!

Not an uncommon occurrence.
:stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmm, I wonder egg-zactly what it was.
No tornado warnings today…so far. Just T-boomers

shady and sari, I hope you both feel better soon.

That’s a cool jacket Johnny.

Glad your granddaughter has been sprung cookie.

Mooooooom, Sis got Dad’s walnut barrister’s bookcase. She’s used it for years.

I’ve made arrangements for Nelson to go to daycare tomorrow since I have no idea when I’ll get off irk. I told my boss that if we weren’t out by 6:30, I would have to go pick him up and come back. I don’t see us staying that late, given that we made a lot of headway today though.

I’m hoping for the promised rain. It may relieve some of the humidity and cool things down a bit, although it was about ten degrees cooler today (see metal mouse’s wether report. It’s pretty much identical to mine).

Red, we just got a little rain shower here, probably enough so I can wait a few days before having to water the yard.

FCM, if those are real wood and the glass is intact, you got a great deal. Enjoy.

Dinner was a Big Bowl O’Sallit with the trimmings. Internettin’ and TV’in are now in order. All y’all take care.

metal mouse, it’s finally beginning to thunder and smell like rain. Yay! I won’t have to water the flowers tonight.

Blurf. Had the day off and slept most of it away. Made burgers for supper and still sleepy. Back to irk tomorrow to get EOM started. I am considering going in on Sat to do A\P but probably won’t.

The auditors report came out finally. No findings for me yay but a lot of very concerning stuff in other programs. Can’t say more but three somebody’s are in major trouble.

Never a dull moment. Yay for quality stuff at a good price **Mooommmm. **.

Blurf.
