I thought it was Toosday, but it isn’t, I am all discombobulated today.
I got to bed late last night because I got a long call that went past quitting time, and I had more calls in my queue. I could have stayed logged out, but I logged back in to finish up my calls. Then I finally dragged myself upstairs, and was just drifting off when my son charged into my room upset that he missed an assignment for his class. I got him calmed down and he went back and checked and the assignmentS are due today.
Since they are just the usual introduce yourself respond to two classmates assignments I’ll help him. The easiest assignments and he struggles with them the most.
It’s a hot 84, feels like 90, degrees outside, supposed to get up to 90 and N.O.S.
I have a ton of stuff to do today, which includes trying to get my son to the doctor. He refuses and he is of a size that I can no longer pick him up and take him.
He says he is feeling better today. He was asleep when I got up this morning, he was up when I got back - damn cat woke him up, but he is sleeping again. He says he is not coughing up blood anymore, but I doubt he is telling the truth, because he doesn’t want to go to the doctor.
I took Ripple to daycare, got back home and heard my irk phone ringing as I was getting to the door. I thought I was supposed to start at 8, but I was scheduled for 7:30. I missed the call, and wanted to log in online but the website is having issues, so I had to call in, which is a royal pain in the ass because the menu system sucks.
So I was about 5 minutes late for irk this morning.
I need to do a few things, but I can’t because of the website being down. At least I got my follow up emails sent, but I have two incidents of customer fraud that I need to turn in.
Why do people feel like they need fancy (non-existent) words to make their writing sound important?? I’ve noticed several engineers here use the word “fitment” when they mean “fit” - referring to how an assembly fits together. I’d never heard of the word, so I looked it up - it refers to installed furniture or equipment, especially in a house. So I suppose a window seat would be a fitment.
In any case, it’s a noun, not an adjective. So instead of sounding important, it just sounds stupid.
I get annoyed by all the osity’s being added to the end of words.
Instead of religion we have religiosity. There was another one I heard to other day, can’t remember, sounded just as stupid though.
I can see a bird sitting on the nest as it is right next to the transom. My son was afraid the birds could come in through the transom, I can’t get the damn thing open, I doubt the birds will. More likely to fly into it and knock themselves out.
Lucky for the birds that I haven’t cleaned it in the almost five years I have been here and it’s dirty enough to see it.
My son is up, wants my help with his homework, then he’ll probably go back to bed. He does sound a lot better today.
I don’t know how somebody who never goes anywhere or is around people ends up getting sick.
Could have gotten something at my mother’s, all of them had been sick the week we went down there.
Blurfage Here. Been busy doing all kinds of stuff today. I went to the Pubic Store to get chocolate and wound up spending about $120 on food for irk. I shan’t have to go anytime soon.
I am taking the day off tomorrow since I irked on Sat. If I don’t take off I shall have too many hours and that is frowned upon plus I don’t get paid for extra hours and damned if I’m irking for free. So there.
I was supposed to go to the dentist yesterday, but they called and said my crown wasn’t ready and could I come this afternoon instead. That gives me more time to figure out how to pay them. Apparently my dentist hates credit card companies so much that he gives a 10% discount if you pay by cash or check. For a crown that means at least $100, or more. So I need to move enough money into my checking account to cover my bill, but I need to know how much it is. I’d better call them.
Why am I telling you all this?
Mom, I’ve heard the word ‘fitment’ for years, but I never use it. 'Cause it’s stupid.
Howdy Y’all! I laid in provisions, did a few chores around da cave, spent a little quality time at the cee-mint pond, and made sup. So I have been productive and non-productive. Retired life. I highly recommend it to everyone.
Oh, thank Og; for a minute there I thought you were going to say he killed Tony the Tiger.
The OW might want a bit of ‘splanation about the live hookers in the trunk.
Had somewhat nearby tornado warnings earlier & now it’s raining excessively hard (Sari, for you that’s “pourosity” ;)),so dark the street lights are on, & extremely windy out; so much so that I had one winder open about ¼" & was standing about 1’ from it watching the storm…& was getting wet!
Just looked at radar; I’m under four (4) separate storm boxes!!!
Hmmm, should I go out in my bathing suit?
He polished off a whole box of Froot Loops?..oh, serial killer. Never mind.
metal mouse, you called it. Snoop is a big, goofy, sweet dog. Nelson got out of bed this morning and met me at the door instead of his usual stay in bed until red brings my harness and leash in because he was looking forward to the social interaction.
CMA Fest is next week. That means giving Nashville proper a wide berth. The last four weekends, I’ve given the Franklin area that same berth, other than when I actually went to RenFest. I’ll give Manchester a little room during Bonneroo. Did I mention that I hate the traffic and parking issues associated with these events?
It looks like it’s doggie day care for Nelson Friday. The old bat is doing a lot of nothing and doesn’t work Fridays anyway, so’s it’s just the other cow-orker and I to finish our own irk and hers.
I found my old Civil Air Patrol uniform shirt from the '90s. (I found the trousers and belt, too.) If I take the stuff off of it, I can wear it as a plain short-sleeved shirt.
i dont know what i did but my bodies trying to kill me…i haven’t had a flare up this bad in years …started yesterday and i can hardly move so if yall dont see me for a day pr 3 thats whats up…
shady, hope you get feeling better. Trouble is at our ages, many times our bodies ARE trying to kill us…
LA John, glad you still fit into your 90’s clothes. Oldest clothing I have is my High School Varsity jacket (1971) and I seriously doubt that I can get into it anymore…
Figured as long as I was watching soccer (I was rooting for Arsenal, who lost 1-4), I might as well do other things, so dishes have been washed and two more loads of laundry done. Since I got up late, I’ll try to stay up a little later and get back on a reasonable schedule.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear (dark, actually) with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. We need the rain some of y’all are gettin’ albeit I would prefer that it be a less intent rain than some of y’all are gettin’. Today I shall betake myself over to the church house around ten to take delivery of the now repaired mower and get it back to the place it stays when not bein’ used. I shall also give a lesson in replacin’ candle wicks to someone who [del]has been drafted[/del] volunteered for candle duty. After that, who knows what the day might hold. Sup shall be ham steaks, scalloped N.O.T., peas 'n carrots, and rolls.
FlyBoy cool jacket!
Shades hope you feel better today.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life is so hard!
