i live and back to what passes for normal sos huzzas and boos to the good and bad ive missed
hey plants if i may ask a q… since you have current and former stepchildren … how does having former stepkids work? relationship wise …
I only know one person that had step kids from 3 marriages and she adopted the kids from husband 2 because he passed on and their bio mom was in jail for life and 2 weeks ( i think marriage no 2 was he needed help with kids and she needed a home and away from well things …and it was a way out )
the kids from hubby no1 only met her once … in the 8 months they were married and her wife in marriage no3 daughter was only2 when they married so shes mommy and she has big brothers and sisters…
So the power went out at work ,so we opened 2 hours late. Then my cashier had to leave due to apartment flooding. And Gordie had intestinal distress.
At least I have hockey on tonight.
sari, I tend to order several quarts of various kinds of soup from the Chinese place down the street. Feel better soon.
I got the 504 notification when I tried to log on to the Dope this morning. That was OK, I had things that needed done. I fixed a killer quinoa main dish salad for supper. It has a bit of Thai influence, a bunch of vegetation, quinoa, lime, cashews and a peanut dressing. Twas yum.
Soccer has been refereed (did good, temperature only 80F so I handled it well, IMHO) and watched (a friend who is a big Liverpool supporter will be estatic)… Decided to have my Sunday go-out-to-eat Dinner on Saturday instead, so Olive Garden did the filling in of the empty spaces.
Also wrote checks for my annual donations (High School Soccer team, U.S.O., local National Public Radio station (WLRH) and Alabama Public TV) and will mail them out tomorrow.
I’m trying to download everything that I shot today (a total of 6 devices) but I’m punchy already as I’m into hour 19 for the day.
Spur of the moment, we went into the city after lunch & training were done. Ended up seeing this. I realized it was a race right away, just not which race because it’s not every day you see a swimmers, with a kayak alongside each one, & accompanying (power) boats, all trailed by NYPD Harbor units near the mouth of the Hudson. They be some badasses!
Roxy had another noisy night, but I still woke at 5:30, alas… In the past half hour, I’ve loaded the dishwasher and run a rinse cycle, hand-washed the griddle, cleaned the cat box (I forgot yesterday, so double-ick!) tended to Higgs, filled the critter fountain, and made my breakfast (chunky PB on multi-grain toast.) And I opened a few windows because it’s 63° outside.
In about an hour, I’m going to run to WaWa to fill a couple of gas cans, then I’ll push mow the ditch. I’ll be helping **FCD **pull the wire from the circuit box to the 2 circuits in the office, then I’ll let him wire those plugs while I ride ol’ John Deere around the yard. By that point, I expect I’ll be ready to crash.
Yesterday, I pulled a spiral ham out of the freezer - that’ll be tonight’s supper, and I’ll divide the leftovers into meal-size packs for re-freezing.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 68 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 96 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The plan of the day is deheathenization (we’re havin’ a common worship service this mornin’), followed by first Sunday brunch. I made a corn casserole and a gallon each of sweet and unsweet tea. We shall stop at the Pubic sto’ to pick up fried chikin ordered yestiddy which is promised to be ready by ten this mornin’. After that, I foresee the rest of the day as sloth as it shall be HAWT out. A/C will be thoroughly enjoyed.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence.
doggio, I haven’t seen a minor league hockey game since leaving Indiana (go Komets!). IMO, like baseball, the games tend to be more fun.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and lazing around. The only things on the agenda today are the usual Sunday chores, putting the chicken bones in the freezer into the crockpot with water to make broth, calling the pharmacy to get a renewal and work on a project in the studio. I may take Nelson to the dog park this afternoon if it isn’t so stinking hot.
It’s a N.O.S. 72 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 82.
I don’t know that it matters about outside, as I am probably going to stay in again today.
I’ll wait and see how I feel later.
Today’s plans slightly delayed due to weather; I was s’posed to be putting bee hive frames together, but as I live in a top floor flat, attempting to hammer anything is somewhat loud and echoey, and everyone was in. My normal plan is to just do stuff like that outside, where you don’t get the resonating floorboard effects, but it was chucking it down. It’s actually been unusually dry here, we needed some rain, so I ain’t really complaining, but it meant I didn’t get done until far later in the day than intended.
I haven’t got the box painted either, which I was intending to do, but I have no paint, it’s Sunday afternoon and all the shops have now shut. I might try and get that done tomorrow first thing, I’ll see what the weather’s doing 'cos that’s also getting done outside due to mess. You do a lot more basic DIY stuff keeping bees than you’d probably think.
It’s like 3 hobbies in one, the third being running away.
