Thank you all for the Birthday wishes!
I celebrated by getting a haircut today. In a little while Wifey is going to take me to lunch at The Allison. T’will be spensive, but yum!
No plans for the rest of the day.
Yesterday I mowed the lawn 'cause I figgered I’d be too old for that kind of stuff today.
Is it Shady’s B’day today too? She’s not on my facebook feed so I wouldn’t know. But then, FB tells me I have a number of messages on my ‘timeline’, but I’ll be damned if I can access them.
Tell me again why I should bother with facebook.
Much was accomplished today, including a yummy dinner. Now the kitchen is clean, the dishwasher is doing its thang and I’m about to assume the knit position. I had a big bag of yarn in the basement that, unfortunately, is wool, so it’s no good for donating to nursing homes. So I’m making a shawl for me. I just need to remember not to toss it in the dryer.
Thus endeth my weekend. For the next couple of weeks, I’m working M-W-T because our babysitter is about to squeeze out another kid of her own. Once she’s ready, I’ll return to my TWT schedule. In any event, I need to go in tomorrow. Alas…

No good deed goes unpunished. I was facebooked DM by a sorta colleague. She was the program manager for the entire world for the program I Manager. She recently took another position in Korea still with Community Rec but is no longer anything to me except a friend. Anyway, she and a bunch of shipmates are cruising from Miami to KW then onto Havana. During the stop in KW tomorrow she asked if I could help her out with a favor. Without hesitation I said yes. During their day in KW a couple in their party are getting married again ( renewal ) on one of our military beaches. She needs a blue cooler and a 12 pack of Corona. Ok, I can do that. Then she needs to be picked up along with one other and driven to the base where the ceremony will take place. She/they/we will set up the area for the ceremony and then I am to drive them back to the port so they can catch the shuttle that will bring the entire group back to the beach. A major pain in my arse but I can do it.
This afternoon I get an email from one of her group requesting that I go buy a FitBit charger since one of them forgot theirs. Well, there is not a Fitbit charger available anywhere that I can find, period. I am not gonna worry about it. So, on what is effectively the first day of the month with all that entails I am going to be doing a couple hours of favors and losing a couple hours of work. And have spent around $20 on beer and limes. After it’s all said and done then I have to go back to the beach base to retrieve my cooler. But do it I shall. This time.
I already don’t want to get up two hours earlier than normal tomorrow. Woe is me.
I picked mulberries for the first time this year, this evening. Most of them will go into pies, but there will also be icecream somewhere along the way. Got my hands all purple, but if you wash them vigorously right away most of the color comes off. The beauty of this is the berries are free, from two trees in an empty lot to the north of my house.
Evening all. Set a new record by sleeping in until 10:16am today so been catching up ever since. Not much accomplished, bills paid and letters mailed and meals eaten, but that’s about it.
Happy (almost over) birthday Bumba
All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.
