I’m glad it stayed put overnight (it’s not a crime-ridden neighborhood, but anything with a visible “Amazon” logo is a temptation).
And at the risk of sounding like the rest isn’t appreciated — it is — the painting is definitely the pièce de résistance. The fact that the purchase assists wildlife preservation only makes it better.
Oh, my-Is it Wednesday already?
Your package arrived, and everything is intact, and by “everything” I mean:
Two “Tennessee” shot glasses, one frosted, one not
One Shot glass with a beautifully monogrammed “S” (more on that later)
One Tennessee keychain
One bottle of Ole Smokey Moonshine, 128 proof
One business card from @Labdad
And a bunch of souvenirs from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee-the only university in the U.S. owned by the Episcopal Church. These include:
One “Protected By Sewanee Angel” window sticker, no. 8666
One promotional pamphlet for the University
One campus map for the University
One “Protected By A Sewanee Angel” coffee cup
And the aforementioned monogrammed “S” shot glass.
Youse guys are making me feel really inadequate and cheap.
In my pathetic defence I can only claim that international postage is expensive and it is prohibited by US Customs to send alcohol by mail into the USA.

So sorry for my tardiness. My box has been packaged for some time now, but the rates at FedEx and UPS were outrageous. Will be getting to the Postal Service ASAP to get the package on its way! I hope the accoutrements make up for the delay. I’ll send the recipient the tracking info as soon as I have it.
I did receive the most delightful parcel from @Ambro ! Not only was there a super cool shot glass from Oregon, there was a miniature measuring cup, a nifty little bottle with a cork in it, two postcards of Oregon, and some Halloween swag!
Thank you so much, Ambro!! I really appreciate all the goodies!
Finally got mine posted! Sorry for being the caboose, and it may be 3 weeks before it arrives on the other side of this pale blue dot, but it’s packed with goodies and love, so hopefully that counts for something!
You sent 6 shot glasses which, I believe, is a record. Plus, they’re from Australia, the very first country that I put on my bucket list with 3 glasses specifically from Sydney, one of which features the Sydney Opera House, a place that is specifically on my bucket list.
Everybody has sent their packages, and everyone but two have recieved theirs. The two that are outstanding are international shipments so it will likely be a bit before they are recieved. That’s fine, we’re nothing if not patient.
And it sounds like we might get @BippityBoppityBoo to join us next year. Excellent!
For the record, and because nobody has registered any objections, I’ll probably do the next exhange in late spring / early summer of 2022. If that’s going to be an issue with anyone please let me know.
Omfg! I absolutely love the packag, jamie coolen(?. I love the shot glass. I started collecting spoons when my mom passed away. It means tons! The blow up hammer, stuffy, and the bracelets i will wear all the time! Thank you so much!!!
A verifiable cornucopia of goodies have duly arrived in Sydney having tracked it’s transcontinental transit from Memphis to Miami to LA to Tokyo and Sydney.
Selected and packed with care from a guy who looks to be very proud of his home town, if not spruiking for a job with the tourism board of Memphis.
A postcard from the National Civil Rights Museum.
A fridge magnet
Some reading matter on the weird and obscure aspects of Memphis.
Some BBQ sauce.
Some Rendezvous seasoning which will likely form the basis of my next dry rub roast.
A black Beale St shot glass and a rather elegant tall glass with a Sun Records monogram.
Just to close off the exchange with mine (intercontinental) host @feppytweed
Australian cuisine is many things and BBQ is definitely one but ribs much less so.
However we dabble and try to make good in the spirit of this exchange.
Started with a couple of “American style” pork rib racks liberally laced with Memphis Original Charlie Vergos “Rendezvous” seasoning in a very slow oven for 8 hours, the last with generous lashing of Central BBQ sauce. Consumed al fresco at the end of a 34C day by the males of the family washed down with James Squire Golden Ale.
