I've been called a troll...

And really, we do need devil’s advocates around here. If we only had a teeming mass of liberal idealists who all agreed with one another, not only would it be boring but we’d all develop very skewed views of the world. Far better to get a dose of reality every now and again: There are people who don’t support SSM. There are a lot of them.

Did you just make this up? This is beautiful!

I’d be disappointed if we didn’t.

Inigo, I had help with this idea from the kitties sleeping on my desk. They like books best when they can be slept upon.

Oh man are you ever missing out. http://www.joyofsocks.com/

I could easily spend hundreds of dollars there, if I had the money. (Check out pages 2 and 3 on the tights page!)

Here’s my favorite sock site:

Little Miss Matched

I only wish she had more women’s knee socks. Fortunately, I already have a drawer full from previous collections.

“wtf mate

Actually, I’m making progress toward a degree at a prestigious college, but my point was that message board sleuthing is juvenile and silly and often results in more trouble than it’s worth. Publishing personal details you found out illicitly about other posters is a bannable offense, one which has led to very, very ugly drama on this board. It’s moot now, since you didn’t seem to find any personal details and the guy is gone anyway, but I don’t think you have much appreciation for the shit that’s gone down here in the past when a busybody has taken it upon him/herself to find out personal details about other posters.

Well said!

My cats can multiply polynomials. We’re working on factoring next week.

My cats are very interested in string theory.

Wow, that’s even harder than math: you’ve taught them not to go after the parrot!

My friend’s cats can multiply polydactyls. But you need a male cat and a female cat for that.

Your cats are better students than mine, then. My cat just regurgitates whatever he takes in.

Oh my cats are very industrious students. They will really go out of their way to investigate when it comes to string theory, and they will perform paws-on experimentation whenever possible, not relying just on book learning or lectures. In fact, they sometimes seem to entirely ignore the lecture material to pursue what seem to me to be highly questionable experimental theories…

I don’t, I never noticed it, but then I haven’t been around here that long. Posting personal details would be slimy, but I think that’s different from looking for similarities between 2 posters after it becomes widely speculated and coyly anti-denied. Maybe it’s juvenile, but it was a pretty juvenile thread anyway.

(The full time slacker thing was a joke based on that being your listed occupation)

I have nothing constructive to add to this, other than to say that I love you all.

My cats also like sleeping on computer monitors…

So, what you’re saying is that anytime I post something stupid people can make fun of my ladle incident? That hardly seems fair, but I guess them’s the breaks.

I feel for you Auto there… It’s sort of like Hal and the Sheep.

Or like a few other posters who when mentioned have less than steller associations with them due to their viewpoints or personalities. As far as doper associations go, the Ladle’s kinda breaking even. It’s not the best thing sure, but it’s certainly far from the worst associations of trollishness or sockery or jerkitude etc…

My cat prefers to study geometry.

Do you know the other meaning of the word “mate”?

It was a joke, jeez. Seeing the occasional reference to your “ladle incident” is not going to kill you. Just ask Hal Briston. Anyway, much worse things have been said and implied about me here and on other boards and I’ve never cried myself to sleep over it.
