I should tell him!” And then I go off and post on something random and forget. But not This Time!

Someone has a sig line quoting Einstein about problem solving. I should of cut and pasted it then and would be grateful if someone would now. It was really beautiful in its stark simplicity and depth.

Everytime I read it, I get a little chuckle.

DVous, I believe Derleth’s sig is the chemical equation for a nuclear reaction, and more accurately, a hydrogen bomb (I believe).
Simetra, Tommy’s sig is from “The State”, that old MTV sketch comedy show. I believe it was Johnny Bluejeans (or the guy who played him, now seen on “Ed”) and somebody else who were quite excited about having been given $250, and spending most of it on pudding. Its the only skit I remember from that episode. Hilarious! Thanks Tommy.

I don’t know where it originated, but I know that series of quotes appeared in the MIT guidebook HoToGAMIT in the mid 1970s. I’ll have to dig out my old copy, but the quotes are from philosophers – Artre and Nietzche, maybe.
