I've Got Your Goat, A College Flashback MMP

Ugh. I just had a student bitch about me- right in front of me- about how I mistreat her and treat her less than the other students.

Y’ know- the woefully under prepared student who needs constant correcting to stay on task? That I bend over backwards to accommodate?

I’m really pissed. I told her that she’s free to complain about me elsewhere or to set up an appointment to talk about her concerns BUT she doesn’t get to gossip about me in lab. That it is unprofessional.

I’m so upset. It really bothers me.

You know, Soapy, I have a nasty and surprising talent that might come in handy right about now. If I were there I could just accidentally puke in her lap and that might make you feel a little better. After you got over your revulsion, of course.
I think I just need a waaaahmbulance today. I’m cranky and crabby in general. I suppose I’ll go take a second nap and see how the day goes after that.

Hugs to you, **Soapy. **

I mentioned last month about how they had found abnormal cells on my cervix. I’ve been trying to stay upbeat and positive. I was supposed to have an appointment today for a colposcopy, so we could see what’s really going on and move on from there. BUT…my damn body had to go screw things up, again, and now I have to wait until next month. If it had waited just one more day, or even another six hours…but noooooo. The problem is, I never know when things are going to start, could be two weeks, a week, three weeks. It’s the reason I went in to see my doctor in first damn place! Ugh.

Bobbio, that is sad news.

I guess I better get back to work.

Ah, Taters. I’m sorry. Waiting must be very hard…

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooored.

Also, it’s really nice outside, and stupid me wore uncomfortable shoes to work. Which means I can’t walk home. Sniff.

That is all.

Just woke up from a nap. Still feeling crappy.

Howdy Y’all! Three down and two to go! Woohoo! Plus I got a haircut today.

Tonight, we’re goin’ over to da Priest’s and da Missus’s home. They are brave souls. They are hostin’ five open houses for parishoners. We signed up for the first one just cause. Anywho, it’s a drop by say howdy, ooh and ahhh over the house and have a glass of wine type deal. Sump’n to do on a Thursday evenin’. I’m grillin’ some chicken boobs and servin’ with wild rice and asparagus for dindin. Easy and simple and nummy!

rigs These are English Peas. That website is also kinda strange but a good description of EP nonetheless.

Puggy I usually steam 'em a few minutes and they come out nice and tender. The little early ones in the can ain’t so bad, but I usually buy the frozen ones.

BBBobbio I got the Billy Barty reference. Hope squirrel trainin’ is goin’ better. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, guess I need to go crank up dindin so’s we can eat and go open housin’.

Later Y’all!

Ah, so now I see. Those are the peas I grew up with and love. I guess the ones I bought were a tad overripe but not bad. I usually buy the steamer bag frozen ones but I just love fresh garden peas. :-9

So if you buy the English peas frozen, are they still in their shells? Do you have to shuck frozen peas? Or do you cook them in their shells and then pop them open once their cooked? I’m still perplexed. We would pick fresh peas like that and then shuck them and cook them. But the frozen nature of in-shell but non-edible shells confuses me.

Just time for a quick post. Poke and mac-n-cheese and broccoli for supper. **FCD **is filling the aquarium. Knitting will ensue tonight. Pot luck at work tomorrow, which is what I made the mac-n-cheese for - we’ll have the extras tonight.

That’s all for now. Time to make broc…

Evening class soon. No one better piss me off…

Yeah, Soapy, it’s the waiting part that’s getting to me. I’ve been trying to get this this resolved/squared away since about the first part of September.

I’m not all, “OMG!!! I’VE PROBABLY GOT CANCER!!!”, but on the other hand, I just want to move on and put this behind me. I’m amost positive (there’s always that little niggle at the back of the mind), that it’s nothing life altering, but I just want to know.

My motivation has been nearly non-existent since lunch. I’m also freezing my ass off in here.

At least today is my Friday.

I’m sorry you’re feeling crappy, Pie.

[sup]Hides from soapy[/sup]

taxi the frozen ones are shelled peas. Frozen unshelled peas would be an abomination! Or ick.

Dindin was good. I like a simple, easy supper sometimes.

Taters sorry about the havin’ to put off the colposcopy. At first I read it as colonoscopy and thought maybe you had to put that off after drinkin’ that stuff to clean you out last night. I was all

Now we chill for a bit before headin’ on over to the Priest’s and Missus’s place.

Something was off in the Mac-n-cheese. The texture was weird and the flavor pretty much wasn’t. And that’s what I’m taking for the pot luck tomorrow. I don’t think I’ll own up to it. :frowning:

Two leaks so far in the aquarium. And someone narrowly missed getting caulk on the carpet. I’d have put a real hurt on him if he’d done that. I asked him to spread towels on the floor, but he got all insulted. I am grrrrrr. And he’s not happy that I just don’t care about the fish tank. I’m not interested. I’ve never been interested. I don’t care if he has it, but it doesn’t appeal to me.

Gotta do some laundry…

Home! Thank Og. Feeling tired, but since I took two NyQuil at around 8:30am this morning, it’s long since worn off and the bonus cold (or reinforced one) symptoms haven’t come back so far, so … that’s good. Oddly enough a number of the people I’ve talked to on the phone asked if I had a cold because apparently I sounded like it. Normally I can hear that, but this time I can’t. My nose isn’t plugged (thus isn’t obstructing my ability to pronounce bilabial nasals) and it isn’t gravelly, so I don’t know what they’re picking up on.

Dunno what’s for dinner tonight, but it will probably involve going out and shopping for it. Having two picky eaters in one household makes for terrible meal planning.

Funny story I forgot to mention earlier. GilaMonster took home some doggie treats that I made last week. My guys are very picky and only one of the three of them would eat any. These treats looked like little bundt cakes with a cream cheese icing. Anyways, she took them home for her pup and told her husband what they were. He didn’t believe her and decided to eat them himself. :smack::smiley:

He said they didn’t taste very good. :stuck_out_tongue:

I made eggplant pasta bake for dinner.

Unfortunately, I ate it all by my lonesome because The Boy is stuck at work until late tonight. Again.

:frowning:

I’m finally home. I need to get some dinner started, but am kind of relaxing for a bit first.

Your dinner sounds yummy, Mahna. I’m sorry your sweetie wasn’t there to share it with you.

That does sound yummy, Muppet. My dinner so far has been ice cream (1/2 scoop goat cheese/roasted cherry, 1/2 scoop pumpkin 5-spice).

Sorry you have to wait some more, Taters. Any way for them to schedule you more flexibly? Seems like this shouldn’t be an unusual problem.

 Mr. GilaMonster

Sorry about your student, Soapy. Don’t let it get to you. There are always students with little common sense and/or courtesy.

Hope you feel better soon, Mork.

Didn’t get home till 7:30 and have been on and off work e-mail since then. I was in meetings all day; had to have my lunch delivered because I didn’t pack and the break I was hoping for didn’t materialize (I asked one of my friends to pick something up and bring it to me in my meeting).

Very tired.

Hugs.

GT

gt, they wanted to schedule me for the 2nd of November, but I’ll be in Hawaii then. They gave me the next available appt after that. I’m sure I could call in to see if there are cancellations, or have them contact me, but it’s not always easy for me to get away from work.

It sounds like you’ve had one very long day. Ice cream for dinner is perfectly acceptable.
