^^^ Actually I am not in the wrong because if I was, I would have been banned by now. As for everything else that you said, that is actually what I do as well. I learn from what other people do and say too. I learn what not to say and do because of them.
No introduction necessary. There of plenty of newer non country songs that I will not change when I run across them on the radio.
What is wrong with you people??? Can’t you see that James Otto Sweet Heart is an expert on the bible and is only trying to spread the word from the ONE TRUE HOLY GOD and SAVE YOU FROM ETERNAL DAMNATION!!!
I, for one, am scared. I don’t want to go to hell. I just don’t understand what all the vile aspects of the bible are all about. See, Leviticus (21:9), (24:16), (26:21-22), Josh (10:39-40), Jeremiah (20:7), Deut (28-53), (32:41-42), or the story of Lot, or the story of Jeptha… Just to name a few.
Being wrong doesn’t get you banned you dummy, I have been wrong plenty of times, all it does is get you publicly chastised by the more experienced, smarter members of the SDMB. The smarter among us learn from the chastisement and adjust our behavior, the more idiotic blithely ramble along, never learning anything, and continue to make a complete ass of themselves. Guess which one you are.
I know this is just emptying another thimbleful of water into a volcano, but:
Just out of curiosity, I Googled the phrase “If it is OK to tell y’all about my most favorite singer here, James Otto is” which starts the OP’s signature (and now locked) thread. At a minimum I count 17 messageboards that appear to have received the same gushing post from this overly devoted fan.
Holly. Listen to me. Seventeen. SEVENTEEN. That I know of. Ranging from country music sites to Disney to here to, well, a variety of places. Normal people don’t do that. Really, they don’t. They talk about their likes and dislikes with their friends and in their existing internet interactions, but they don’t spam the internet. Because that moves one from “devoted fan” to “obsessed person”. And while I’m sure you see this all as a labor of love, all it is doing is moving the focus from “James Otto? Isn’t he the guy with that new song?” to “James Otto? Isn’t he the guy with that crazy internet stalker?” Ultimately you’re not doing him any favors.
Of course nothing I say will stop you, because your devotion to James Otto is what defines you and makes you happy, and if you didn’t have that what would you have? But do try to gain some other interests in your life to balance out your activities and, above all, a little perspective about how much is too much.
Damn, you weren’t kiddin’. I put that it in quotation marks just like that:
“If it is OK to tell y’all about my most favorite singer here, James Otto is”
That way it gives you exact hits of every word in that phrase, and sure enough it lit up. She does the exact same spiel wherever she goes. Her obsession with religion is mild compared to what it is with James Otto.
You expect this for some teenage girls, but not this extreme, and certainly not a woman who is 30. She definitely needs help. I hope someday she finds somebody for herself. Maybe that would be the first step in getting her out of this condition. But what guy would be wanting to listen to this JOSH SHIT 24/7/365?
