God, right? I try to not go around wishing rape on anyone, but having an absolute shit fit over a throwaway anonymous online comment is bizarre. But in the real world, folks are just frustrated that these kind of atrocities can happen and are vocally lashing out in the only way that feels like it’s equal. In the real world, prison rape is an actual problem that no one takes seriously and no one makes an effort to address.
And I have to think that at least part of the reason is that thousands of times a day someone in this country is making s prison rape joke or a casual comment out of frustration and most people think it’s okay to do so.
So whenever I see someone wishing for extrajudicial punishment like rape or murder, especially in prison, I will call it out.
Wishing rape or murder on someone in prison is the same as wishing rape or murder on anyone anywhere.
