Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back (no spoilers in OP)

I’ll be including NO spoilers (not that one necessarily can without explaining the whole thing), but still don’t count on anyone else’s posting here adhering to that rule, i.e., proceed reading with caution beyond the op.
Kevin Smith fans, a must see. Mewes fans, an even bigger MUST see! You will laugh your @ss off.

I considered it much like an amusement park ride–full of fun for it’s own sake, very tongue-in-cheek and self-aware. Not really long on the messages or deeper meanings, but then it’s a movie about Jay and Silent Bob, afterall. This is not Dogma…as a matter of fact, I’d say it’s nothing like any previous Smith flicks–mostly just good (unclean) fun.

Spoilerish, but not really…a lot of GREAT cameo performances. (Keep in mind, I avoid reading any spoilers in trades or rags before seeing a movie–so others ‘in the know’ by reading those sites or pubs would probably already know about a lot of them.)

And please, pretty please. Just sit still through all the closing credits.

Anyway else go opening night?

(And I’ve been using the Clerk’s sig for a while.)

I agree! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended. This movie is FUNNY FUNNY!!!

I’m a big Kevin Smith fan… but I think even if I weren’t, this would be an AWESOME movie!

F-Bomb’s abound… so if you hate the word, you may be offended. Also, stay till after the credits role… There’s one last Cameo after all the credits are done! There’s a pretty funny song while the credits are roling to keep you entertained while you wait.

But… all in all… I was expecting funny… I got funny and then some. F***ing AWESOME movie!

I laughed my ass off. I laughed all the way through. So did everyone else in the audience. I laughed at every single joke regarding a body part or a bodily function.

I am damned proud to be a 12-year-old boy.

Not a spoiler, I promise. But I’ve been saying “BooBooKittyFuck” all morning.

Yeah, everyone in the audience laughed throughout…right through the credits (which have some surprises as well).

LOL!! PLD said last night that he wanted to change his username to that! I told him he could at least put it in his sig…

Gawd, I laughed so hard I got a headache. Toward the end, I was like, No, no more hilarity, no, the pain, HAW HAW HAR HAW (ow) BWAH HA (ow) HAR HAR HAR!

Lawrence of Arabia it’s not, but it’s been a long fucking time since I’ve walked out of the thinking damn, I enjoyed that movie.

Completely tangentially, we saw it as a sneak preview double-feature with “The Others”, which was also a damn fine flick.

Ha ha ha ha ha, I got to see it before it opened!! They did a sneak peek showing last weekend (Aug 18).

Too funny. Like everyone’s saying, stay through the credits, and if you don’t mind, actually pay attention to them too. There’s a guy credited as the “Mewes Wrangler.”

I caught it this afternoon, and I was cracking up all over the place. The best jokes were the ones where I was the only one in the theatre laughing at, such as the “Shut up, Prince Valiant!” line from Jay to Seann William Scott’s character in the van.

And, my oh my, I need to rewatch American Pie. I do not remember Shannon Elizabeth being that pretty. It must be those glasses… ::swoon::

Hey, just as a “by the way” to anyone who catches this thread before Sunday…

Kevin Smith’s pleading for ticket sales…worth checking out (because I’m a gigantic geek, as well as being a 12-year-old boy).

God, that’s great! I haven’t seen any of his movies, but I’d go just for that alone.

I think it’s funny that he’s trying to beat AP2, considering that just about half the cast of that film is in J&SBSB.

We need to start a new thread for all the "didya notice that?"s in J&SBSB. Such as Holden McNeil being in Potzer Inc.

Great idea!

You guys wouldn’t last a day on “The Creek”.

Now if you will excuse me, I have to get my hair frosted…

In prison, you’ll be the pie…
