CNN ran an article about that Final Jeopardy! clue.
And by the way, I think the show is really dragging out this Tournament of Champions by having a best-of-seven series.

It will certainly end tomorrow, right? One of the two contestants with two victories will win tomorrow’s game, methinks.
I actually like this format better than a two-game match where the two scores are added together. YMMV.
I hope not. The other two are really good players, but I like Sam. If he had bet nothing in tonight’s game, he would have won.
The thing about Jeopardy is you can know almost everything but get a bad board, be slower on the buzzer or have opponents especially knowledgeable about what categories appear.
I like Sam, he’s witty and hadn’t lost before ToC. He’s come close. I like the extended format and am enjoying the games and friendly rivalry. It’s nice to see three different generations represented.
I can’t get over how badly Sam bet in FinalJeopardy. Amy would still have won but he should have only bet enough to cover her if she bet nothing but still keep him above a doubled third place amount.
I hope Sam wins at least one game. He’s very good, but hasn’t been able to bring it home.
They keep saying “best of seven” but that would be four games! It’s first to 3 of a maximum of 7 games, right?
Never mind.
With three players you need a maximum seven games to assure a three-game winner. They have already played four games and two players are tied with two wins each. If Sam Buttrey wins the next two games they will need game seven to break a three-way tie.
I meant “best of seven” would mean 4 wins. I understand the format, I just think the wording is weird.
Best of seven means four wins when there are two players, like the World Series. First to four wins with three players could go to ten games, aka best of ten.
Got it. Still weird to me. YMMV…
It may seem weird because few competitions have three players.
I’m also rooting for Sam now. He played his ass off today (or last night, or whenever y’all watch it).
I too wish that Sam wins at least one game.

Interesting that all three are from the Bay Area. Amy- Oakland, Sam- Monterey, Andrew- San Francisco. All within 90 miles of each other.
I was born in Sam’s home town, lived in Oakland and worked in SF – so this is wonderful.
Plus, I got the Joseph Conrad FJ too. I’m en fuego this week.
I read a “Making of Alien” book that mentioned Conrad a lot so I came up with the correct answer…but that was a very tough Final Jeopardy, imho.
I found the last few days in general to be very difficult. I know the dial it up a notch for ToC, but I got only about half of what I would get right on a normal day.
I’ve done well on the boards but guessed ACC for Final Jeopardy.
TOC has been very good. I’m always impressed with their depth of knowledge.
I like Sam.Buttrey and hope he recovers from the Nov 17 game stumble. Gutsy mo e betting it all in FJ.
