Jeopardy! 2022-23

As it turned out:
Mara bet 4,000 (giving her no chance) and got final correct ending up with 8,200
Lisa bet 4,201 and got final correct ending up with 9,601
Nicole bet 1,201 and got final incorrect ending up with 8,399

I was confused by the “awed by its polished steel and stone” and didn’t see the Port Authority building as a remotely possible answer lol.

I don’t recall a champ lately who had so many wrong answers during game play. Is that tracked?

That’s what I said to my wife! I kept shouting “Don’t guess!” over and over, it was frustrating. But sometimes you only need a few right responses.

I know nothing of polished steel and stone, but I do know Law and Order goes to the Port Authority bus station all the time. All those hours watching finally pays off!

I knew about the Port Authority bus station from Desperately Seeking Susan.

I did get a giggle out of the lady’s answer to the clue about the APGAR score.
“The Apgar score is a 5-part test of appearance pulse grimace activity & this function”
Her response: Speech

That was funny. And since the category was “A baby” her guess was, to be generous, assuming the baby was at least a few months old.

APGAR scores are given within minutes of the birth…so even worse.

That’s the list I couldn’t remember or find. Things have changed- Three stations at 11 or 11:30am (local times).

And the listing for my area is correct. (Spokane, for NW Idaho.)

“Spruce moose”

Yeah, that was awesome.

I have been to New York a few times, but knew nothing of any Port Authority bus terminal.* You might as well ask me to come up with “Banksy.”

*Well, I suppose I now know that there is one, and that it’s on an island.

I got that reference!

I too was guessing MTA, not Port Authority.

What a poor showing by Lisa.

I got Thursday’s FJ because I’ve seen the water feature in his name at Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale AZ. He got his masters there.

The unusual places data enters your brain!

They almost got me with this because I didn’t see it until today.

For those who don’t want to follow the link, it says, “Mayim and Ken will both read 30 clues per episode with the two hosts alternating clues. Jeopardy!‘s set designers have already begun work on a new double-host lectern to be ready for next September’s season premiere. The specifics on who will read Final Jeopardy! during each episode have still yet to be ironed out and will be revealed on an upcoming episode of Inside Jeopardy.”

The date on that post makes me a little suspicious.

That hadn’t occurred to me, but yes, it may not be entirely accurate.

Last line of the article ;“the Final Jeopardy! category of the Season 40 premiere has already been announced: “April Fools”.”

Had me thinking they were about to ruin the show…

Hosts want vacations and to deal with personal issues and to do other things. Having two hosts is an arrangement that I think both are likely very pleased with - I doubt either of them wants to be the only host regardless of the stans. If you forgive the date, at least they aren’t alternating questions…
