I’m betting that the guy goes down hard in his first return effort tonight.
I’ve noted: if the scores are like 14K-14K and you have 2K, don’t bet anything! This isn’t the first time that has happened, but it makes me smile every time!
And man was that last champion super annoying. On his first game, I was like “he could get annoying fast.” And he did!
Another recent contestant who also had a slightly interesting story was Chris D’Angelo, who was an eight-game winner at the end of May. Apparently, he’d been trying for a while to get on the show and that inspired his sister to write a screenplay, which became the television movie Quiz Lady (available on Hulu).
BTW, that movie was released in 2023 and the Wikipedia article says it was under development as early as 2020, so he’s been thinking about or trying to get on the show for at least five or six years.
Yeah me too!
The second place bet was very dumb.
I love it when I’m right. Also, I nailed final Jeopardy.
Pretty early to be posting about today’s game. Lots of people haven’t had a chance to watch it yet.
IIRC, Jeopardy fans on this board decided some time ago that we wouldn’t post about each day’s game until 8:00 pm ET that day.
Have any of you watched the episode of Cheers where Cliff goes on Jeopardy! and loses because he bets everything on his answer to Final Jeopardy!?
Sorry about that. I’ll do better.
Go, Weird Al fan! ![]()
Which side of the fan/stalker line is she on?
She didn’t say how she got those boxers, did she…
Actually. she said he gave her the boxer shorts. One hopes they were laundered before he gave them to her.
I think she said that Al knew she had them, not that he gave them to her.
She said she owns a pair of Weird Al’s boxers, Ken said “I hope he knows this”, and she replied “Yes, he gave them to me” while motioning someone taking something out of their crotch, as if he simply removed the ones he was currently wearing. Which any real journalist would have followed up on.
More from the front than the back, but otherwise yes, that.
Yes, but they get to come back the next day.
Mrs Maven & I have several criteria to select players to root for.
- We are retired. She was a Librarian & I was a Software Developer. We root for anyone with either occupation.
- We live in the Chicago area. We root for anyone from here.
- We are Jewish. We root for any “Member of the Tribe.”
In addition, I personally root for any long-time winner to continue their streak. I know some people find some players annoying. I rarely have that issue.
It’s even better to be right on a Triple Stumper ANYWHERE in the game.
