Jericho TV show, what a waste!

I watched this on a tip, and I don’t think I have ever both hated and loved a TV show more.

I loved the story about the town and its residents dealing with the loss of all outside information following a nuclear apocalypse. There were some really good ideas and plots there, side characters that were great. They waited too long but when stuff started getting desperate is when it got good(roving bandits, imposter US military, neighboring town going to war) and I was mostly satisfied with the answer to the big mystery(it made sense mostly).

But the show seemed determined to fuck this up with light hearted nonsense like soap opera he said she said baby daddy secret crapola. Weeks after a nuclear attack with no word from outside and food running slim the town would organize a dance or whatever, the tone was not dark enough! The antics of the dimwitted cops in town etc.

Good show though and I’m glad I watched it though it is flawed.

There may be hope yet, send a pack of peanuts to the network showing your support for the show and maybe CBS will… oh wait, that worked 5 years ago, then season 2 came out.

Agreed though. It had promise, but it could never seem to get off the ground.

I thought Jericho was the incredibly rare case of a show that started out so-bad-its-good, then got better and better until it was actually good. And then then died a tragic, untimely death.

Nuts.

Season 3 is available in graphic novel format (or six separately issued comic books) from IDW but is getting hard to find because it is out of print. It’s helpful for those of us who still want to know what happened after San Antonio.

The show had so much potential, but man did it ever fail to fulfill it.

Some previous threads:

Resurrection of an old thread. Season 4 is coming out starting in July of this year in comic form for any who might be interested. IDW announced it in their upcoming titles in May.

Not sure if you are kidding, but Netflix actually is considering resurrecting this show.
