Jerry Falwell in Critical Condition

The man who said 9/11 was God’s punishment on the US has viral pneumonia.

I heard he had a big heart attack. I’m sure there are prayers going out for him.

Of course there’s no evidence of a heart attack, since he’d have to have a heart to begin with.

Seriously, I don’t wish ill on the man, but I honestly do not care if he’s ailing or not.

Viral pneumonia is unpleasant, and I don;t wish Jerry Falwell any harm. I hope he gets better and maybe becomes more compassionate.

Isn’t this the same guy who a few years ago said that if he didn’t get donations equalling some enormous amount “God was going to call him Home” ? Maybe this is that calling they speak of so much.

Nah, that was Oral Roberts.

I wonder what he did to deserve losing God’s veil of protection from viral pneumonia.

Maybe God’s aim is off.

I was going to say God isn’t into Oral, but then I thought better of it.

I want to know what he did to ever deserve it to begin with. Maybe compromising etchings of God with the Virgin Mary?

I think he’s jealous of the attention the Pope’s getting.

Death Race 2005? Who gets to Jesus First?
God’s gonna kill me fer sure, now.

I hope he gets taken care of by a gay man, of color.

Actually, kinda sorta not. When my dad was in the hospital, some of the best care he got was from a gay black man.

Y’know, I’m not a Falwell fan by any stretch of the imagination. Still, I think that some of the comments being made here are in very bad taste. I wouldn’t say those things about my worst enemy.

D’oh!

Suppose I should clarify. I mentioned the “person of color” because he strikes me as being sympathetic to the Bob Jones type. The ‘keep the races separate’, nudge-nudge, kind of people. I could be wrong, but he seems intolerant on many levels to me… so some first hand care by someone that he’d normally be intolerant toward could do him some good.

I dunno, I have this SNL-style skit in my mind with Falwell in one bed, and the Pope in the bed next to his. As the doctors are discussing each patients condition, Falwell and the Pope keep doing things to themselves to make themself worse in hopes of getting to Heaven first.

I guess that makes you a better Christian than Falwell. He’s said much the same and worse, without even having the decency to admit it’s from hatred. Falwell deserves every bit of pain he gets and I wish him exactly as much suffering shy of death wish that the Pit rules allow.

I’ve not seen anything over the top here, nor anything rejoicefull.

If only SNL were that clever and/or funny.

I can’t help wonder if he has a living will.

Tris

Geez, barely older than my father. I sure hope my father never goes through that. (Although he’s had some heart problems.)

Maybe the atheists among us should send a get well card to Falwell. You know, to show that we harbor no ill will.
