All those buses on the parkway, every day and every night. Bringing the elderly of NY to the old seaside resort that has now been Trumped.
The trains in NJ are actually extremely poor. We have the population density to equal what Europe does, but we are overwhelmingly Highway oriented. It does verge on criminal.
They have been talking about another route through Jamesburg down the western part of the county to Lakewood for decades, I doubt it will ever happen. The Shore line once had a branch that actually ran to Sandy Hook, but even the right of way is largely gone now. There is a biking and walking path for a nice portion of it.
I am lucky I live as close to the train as I do. Too much of NJ does not have any options nearby.
Don’t know when I’ll be back online so I’ll say this now. Have fun guys. Wish I was there. Raise a glass for me and think of me baking in the hot sun. Hopefully I can make it next year.

A reminder of what I will have as the basics:
I will have burgers, hot dogs, Italian (Sweet) Sausages for grilling.
Several types of cheese for the burgers.
Rolls, mustard, ketchup, relish, pickles.
I will supply Diet Soda and Coke and juices and water. Probably some juice boxes for kids.
I will have at least a case of Bass Ale, maybe more. I will have a spare cooler with ice. I will have some extra ice.
I will need a ride from the station, though I am not sure what time I am arriving. I will go look up the train schedules right now and get back to you.
Okay, according to www.njtransit.com the train comes into Middletown at 2:15. It looks like the trains come in once an hour, every hour, 15 minutes after the hour so the 2:15 looks like the best option.
OK, barring any last minutes volunteers, my wife will be waiting there to pick you up. I think there might be one or two others coming by train. I hope they check into the thread today.
Scratch the “& Family” part…we overextended our commitments this weekend, so I’ll be heading to the Fest while wife and kid have other family things going on.
